Apple dwarf staking

Michael

Thought I'd look into this one BEFORE the tree gets here. I've ordered a Y-mill on Bud9 and am aware that it'll need to be staked. There are obviously inumerable stakes in this world and I suppose numerous ways to employ them. My tree will be subject to horrendous, brief winds in the spring from the perennial storms (including at least near by tornadoes) from all points on the compass. Any pearls of wisdom and pictures? I expect the staking to be a permanent fixture and want very much to do it right the 1st time. Speaking of staking, is "maypolling" an extension of a particular staking system that would be useful only on a particular system or systems. My impression is that it is and that it is used as a sort of mast from which to tie lines to that extend down to fruiting branches for support under heavy loads.
