Was looking for more of a bottom line number, but can get an idea from your replies.

Myself about 42 veg / herb / melon varieties and 13 types of berries.(black, red, gooseb, currant, blue)

I heard a lecture from a lady that grew 30 something types of veg. I thought that was a lot, but I counted up mine and it surpassed hers without trying. If I count the fruit trees it is 30 something types more.

But...I will probably cut back some on the varieties when I figure out what I'm doing. I'm in my 3rd season of learning. I try lots of things and see what grows and what doesn't for me.

These are the plants I currently have growing:

Watermelons - 3 types, 3 plants

The real question should be at the end of the year and see how many varieties you grew actually yielded, lol. This gardening stuff is pretty hard! But challenging and fun nonetheless! Damn pests, daamn weather, damn soil conditions. It aint easy, but loving the battle.

I'm doing an exhibition for the county fair and in it alone, it has about 90 different types of plants.

I find it hard to believe but I just counted 55, and I have a small square foot set up. Looks like successive planting requires a large variety for the fill ins.BTW I am being buried in veggies from a 4x12 and I love veggies. Second year is the charm on the Mel's mix. Lots of good home brewed compost is the trick Mel is right on that one.

I wouldn't even know where to start on this one. I had 93 varieties of tomato seeds when I counted the packages this winter, and then I picked up a few more packs here and there and found a couple more at home stuffed into the wrong drawer, so it's probably like 105 on the tomatoes alone.

Is "lots" an acceptable answer?
