Only thing you can do is keep the plants picked and watered. I've seen them resprout from the bottom.

otoh, the crops they produce under those circumstances are inferior, not really worth it. These kinds of peas are determinate, bred to set only one crop.

Peas are a cool weather crop. They are meant to grow in the cool spring weather and warm weather has a negative effect on them. The benefit of that is that you harvest your crop of peas, pull the peas out and now have room to grow something else over the summer, like string beans that like the heat. Or any other heat loving crop.

Then in the fall you can grow peas again into the cool fall weather. Unfortunately, climate challenges can make the cool weather crops iffy. I found this year it was too cold to plant peas in the end of March as I usually would, from seed. And I started them late after mid April and now they have not even begun to produce peas and I'm wondering how four straight days of over 90 degree weather is effecting them. I may not get a crop at all. I am keeping mine well watered and try to provide some shade during the hottest part of the day when it is this hot and keeping my fingers crossed.

The same problem may present in the Fall. If it does not get cool soon enough. It seems like there is Winter and there is Summer nowadays and Fall and Spring are iffy in the vegetable garden.

I guess I thought since I had gotten such a good start with the transplants, that I could get an extra couple of weeks of production before the full summer heat. In past years the plants have not turned mostly brown until the end of June. But you are saying that the plants will start to die off after they get 5-6 feet and they produce no matter what? The weather this spring has been oddly either much colder than normal, or much hotter than normal, swinging back and forth.

I just planted some "Yard Long Bean" cowpea seeds in front of them to grow over them, as the summer crop.

I planted bush beans in between my peas , now that my peas have dyed out I pulled them and I'm still have beans coming from them.

I think if you water your plants really well they might stick around a little longer, but now that it's starting to heat up it might be too late. You really might think about just planting seeds next year as soon as you can get out into your garden. I'm by no means an expert, but I think peas aren't really happy being transplanted.
Our peas are still green and putting out blossoms. I wasn't expecting them to still be around this long... I planted beets in between them and the poor things are about suffocating. Oh, well, I am putting peas by the bagful into the freezer so I am not going to complain!
