Heat for coop.. quick question

Last year I had a 100 Watt light bulb set on a timer to add heat. I am concerned about keeping the hens laying due to the light. I would rather they follow their normal cycles. I plan on having these hens for a long time and don't want to push them. We get more than enough eggs from these girls. Do those red lights work the same as white? I thought there was a ceramic bulb that just gives heat.. The local ag stores haven't heard of them or just don"t know. Any ideas? I do have a small electric heater that I could hang from the ceiling.. The coop is only 6x8 inside. Thanks, Kit
