Hey all,

I'm a college student and wanted one of my summer goals to be to grow a small vegetable garden. I wanted to know if it was too late in the season (May) to start planting anything outside, and if not what I could? I live in a townhouse with a backyard made of sod on top of red clay soil - space is limited, but i'd like to grow some sort of vegetables or fruits.

I may need to grow things indoors just so i can transport them to college with me in the fall, but does anyone have any suggestions on what would be good in the humid northern virginia summer, that would bear fruit before i left in September?

Thanks,

Zach
