Staking Tomato Cages

Since everyone was so helpful with my first question, I figured I'd ask the next!

I'm on a mission to outgrow my dad's tomato's.

He's always just used the flimsy 36 inch tomato cones that you can get anywhere, and let his plants grow over the top and back down (which i know can't be healthy).

After some research I've seen a lot of people construct the 5 foot tall or so cages out of Concrete Reinforced Wire - which i understand.

The problem i have is that i don't know how to stake them properly. I have a fairly shallow area to sink stakes - I had to bring in several yards of topsoil / compost to start the garden due to the fact that after about 6inches you run into really thick clay soil and rock / slate.

Any ideas on how to stake a cage appropriately? I can't seem to drive anything wood more than 8 inches down and I'm afraid that won't be far enough to hold up a cage that's 5 feet tall and hopefully supporting a ton of tomato's :)

Thanks for your help!
