Dolomite Lime & Water pH Acidity Question

After reading some informative posts of the pH of tap water (justaguy's), I was wondering:

If you have a peat based container mix, why add dolomite lime to it as some recommend, if your water pH is high.

Measured my own tap water, and it has a pH of ~7.4. This high a pH should more than offset the acidity of the peat moss used in the mix?

Justaguy,

You stated awhile ago that you add vinegar to your watering. Do you also add Dolomite to your container mix?

Thanks in advance for any discussion.
