I have been pretty successful with growing vegetables in containers and this year have tried sunflowers (the medium size) and they are growing very well. I am open to suggestions for what I can grow myself here in NC for my wedding next May. I am incorporating sunflowers and would also like to grow thistle. I am not sure what I should start now for next year, or wait until the end of the winter as I did for the sunflowers. Our wedding will be very "outdoorsy" and rustic, not huge delicate/ornamental flower (such as roses or lilies) fans...
