Spicing up a narrow entry road

mica

We have a home on a flag lot with a 30 foot wide, 2,000 foot gravel entry road that runs north to south. Our single lane road is approximately 12 feet wide. On one 800 foot section there is a farm field on the east side of the entry road. Corn and soybeans are planted in this field. There is currently no barrier or plantings between our gravel road and the farm field.

We're wondering what we might be able to plant in a 3-4 foot wide space along this section between the road and the farmer's field. We'd like to add some pizazz to this section of the road, but we're not holding out much hope given the tight space. Clearly, we'd need to avoid encroaching onto the farm field.

The other side of this 800 foot section is an old tree line that had separated two farm fields.

The remaining 1,200 feet of entry drive runs through woods.

Any ideas for spicing up this section of road?

Thanks in advance,

Chris
