pot racks- what would you look for?
Comments (4)I've been using hanging bars (wood, pipe of various metals) for pot racks for the past 30 years or so & mine have been the homemade variety. To me, they are a matter of function & the spaces in which I used them tended to suit a custom application which I couldn't, or wouldn't, afford but in almost every case, I've had custom hooks made to fit the situation. Go figure! My problem with most of the pre-made ones is that they either look cutsey or they want to be the main focus point in the room, neither of which are characteristics that I like. If I had a huge kitchen with a massive island or work table, I'd definitely invest in a perfectly scaled, custom made, utilitarian rack where I'd have room to hang ALL of my pans - but no hanging chains. I hate those d*mn chains - they look like they belong in a castle! Good luck to your brother - I think he can easily get enough interest to satisfy a hobby-type business....See MoreDo you think this would make a good potting bench
Comments (7)I got an old metal cab that had the double doors and 6ft tall. I had to sand it and prime with rustoleum and then paint. It was a LOT of work. also I made the mistake of using the reg rust color of primer. I never dreamt how much white paint it was going to take to cover the red color ! Whew it is not cheap. I wanted out local car body shop to do the whole thing, that is the best way to get it doen right..they have all the sanding and spray stuff there. They were too busy so I thought I could do it. I am glad it is done. I think 100.00 is alot if you are going to redo the paint ...it is not cheap to get all the spray paint for a project that size. Good luck and I hope your finances turn around...we are getting in the same boat....c...See MoreWhat kind of Dining table with bench would look good in this space?
Comments (4)Benches are great for kids and I suggest having only one bench if you really want it and putting chairs at the head and end of the table along with chairs on the opposite side. You want to think about if you have guests or relatives over with health issues. Well made chairs with backs work best for them! My dining room table is similar to this and it does have a leaf for when we have several people over for dinner!...See MoreWhat bench would you pair with this table?
Comments (2)First bench seating IMO is the worst possible seating in aDR. It barely works at a picnic table . To get in and out everyone has to stand to move the bench ladies in a dress find anyway else impossible to get in and out. That table looks like it enlarges so how will the bench work then . Get all chairs you will never regret that choice....See Moretishtoshnm Zone 6/NM
