How to get inchworms off broc that you 'miss' before cooking?

So my DH has boycotted eating fresh broccoli because I didn't see one little inchworm last year when it got cooked. Ended up in HIS plate, and he saw it before he ate it, but he's traumatized now (rolleyes).

My question is: If I happen to miss one like I did before, is there a way to cook this stuff so the inchworms (if any) will 'let go' while I'm cooking? I typically boil, and am wondering if it's just a matter of putting the broc into already BOILING water (vs. letting them sit in a cold pot and heating it up...similar to the frog theory).

I know this is the dork question of the day...sorry.
