Have Rooted Pyracantha evergreen/orange berries

I have a couple trades of rooted Pyracantha:

Flowering evergreen with pretty orange berries. Grow in any kind of soil (at least mine was the worst and it's thriving!) White flowers in clusters. They are evergreen and have really beautiful fall/winter orange berries that attract birds.

On another thread I posted that I have rooted comfrey and rooted purple monarda (butterflies and hummingbirds love them), I also have rooted bush yellow mums (huge if you trim at july 4th, rooted false lamium (ground cover with pretty yellow flowers). Have lots of unrooted cuttings, but I won't be propagating much from trades this year (don't think, could change)

I am interested in rooted raspberries, rooted figs (cold hardy) rooted currants, rooted perennial geraniums, rooted hydrangea, rooted trumpet flower, rooted passionfruit,rooted hardy bananna, rooted Zepherine Drouhin rose .

I have lots of unrooted things. Let's email!

I like to pack a flat rate small priority box (8$?) with goodies and surprises.

Just an FYI...The small (pretty tiny) Flat Rate box is $4.95.

The 2 different shaped medium Flat Rate boxes are $10.70. They are often not the best value if mailing 4 states or less away from you. Example, you in TN are likely in mail zone 3 from me, and in order to be the best value when trading it would have to be stuffed with 8 pounds of plants in order to be the most economical way of mailing. It is often a lot cheaper to just use the same size box and pay postage by the pound.

Hello, I have two trades of two rooted starts of brandywine berry. This is a black raspberry. It is NOT good fresh eating but it is GREAT for making sauce, the best for sauce in my opinion. It is a long twining type berry for loop or weave training on wires. It is a very vigorous grower. I am interested in trading for starts of a good tasting red raspberry. I would also be interested in: Astilbe Ornamental rhubarb Ceanothus (tall shrub types) tiny-flowered pink rose bush rooted start golden hop apricot or yellow flowered digitalis (foxgloves) Other orange or yellow to orange flowered perennial Or interesting foliage perennial Thanks, Lex

Considering what we would be looking at if we removed them... Id rather have them. Atleast for now. I wouldn't want to remove them untill I could replace them with something else. Our yard is fairly large and we basically had to start from scratch. Eventually all the natural areas will be cleared(except the trees) and replanted but it will take lots of time and money. Im focused on other areas right now.

Hi: I've not been impressed with the look of viburnums in online pics; might have to rethink them. I have thought about evergreen Rhododendrons and might use some. Our soil pH is fairly close to neutral, as I recall. I don't want to completely hide the fence; that type of fence needs patching up from time to time, and I'm pretty good-sized; trying to crawl through a dense hedge would be a but much. I don't mind seeing some fence here and there; the shrubs through break it up & distract the eye from it. We have a septic tank & leach field the side of which extends out maybe to that last Euonymus bush (and then runs across the yard, not long-ways); I don't want things that get way high, since I figure their rooting systems will be more elaborate. Since the fence is about 5'4" tall, a shrub or small tree needing be very tall, and since many shrubs are about as wide as tall, I'm leery of getting big stuff. Basically, I like planting shrubs 2 or 3 feet from the fence; I don't want to have to plant 5 or 6' out from the fence, and take up a lot of yard space. The shrub row will also look strange if some shrubs are 4 - 6' tall, and a couple are 20' holly trees, for example. Hence my preference for a pyramidal short holly, rather than a round bush (plus I like the pyramidal look better). The Emerald Green Arborvitae get 12 - 14' tall, they say, but are there for a reason; kind of like I'm holding my hand up to block the view of that dog kennel. Richard.

There are different varieties of pyracantha. I have been trying to learn which are which, because I have the sprawly type with clumpy berries and I want the cascading spray type with small cherry-like berries all up and down the branches. There are a few ancient shrubs in my neighborhood of the type that cascades, and it is truly spectacular in spring when it flowers. Mine is okay, but needs to be pruned to look decent and the flowers are not as abundant or showy. I believe I have pyracantha coccinea and that I want a different variety, but the images on google just have not been enough for me to identify it. It may be a firethorn from India or Nepal that is so graceful, but I'm still researching. Renee Here is a link that might be useful: 2 different Pyracantha photos on my street

You are still using Priority mail, but you are instead just paying by the pound.

If you are going to do much plant trading it really helps to have a digital postal scale so you always know what it the best value...by the LB or Flat Rate. You can usually get a good cheap scale on Ebay for $20 or less (including postage) and it will soon pay for itself in the $$ saved. I use it too to weigh bubble envelopes, so I never have to guess or put excess postage on them, just to be sure they are not short.
