This will be my second season with Bliss Parfuma and I also love it! Extremely healthy with gorgeous blooms that last forever and a lovely bushy, well foliated shrub shape. I have found fragrance to be moderately strong in heat and very strong in cooler temperatures, which might explain how it won the Glasgow Tollcross Fragrance Award. It has a very pleasant and unusual fragrance like a jasmine-based perfume with hints of sweet fruit and…maybe shea butter? I have never grown any other modern Kordes aside from Beverly, which really does have the most amazing peach/plum/citrus fragrance. It has a very attractive growth habit for a hybrid tea and has a low thorn count. I no longer grow it because it frequently developed powdery mildew in my conditions, a weakness it must have inherited from its parent The McCartney Rose. Amongst older Kordes roses, none can be more fragrant, beautiful, charming, romantic or floriferous than Crimson Glory or Barcelona!

Wow... these photos are gorgeous and I will need to go back through and read more of everyone's wonderfully informative descriptions once my brain isn't fried from weekend classes. Ingrid... Schon Ingeborg has been a quite impressive new spring performer here during my hot and dry spring. It did so well in hot, full sun over the past couple of weeks that I thought I would test it next to a stone wall with a lot of radiant heat to see how much it could actually handle. This may prove to be too much for it, but it's in a pulp pot for now so I can keep moving it and testing it in different places until I find the right spot for it to flourish. It is VERY fragrant. It came from Palatine and was a bare root, not a band. It's just a little short thing for now, but lots of blooms! If I'm not mistaken, the mother plant was from oldrosarian's yard. She said it balled terribly in the PNW, but I'm learning from this forum that blooms that ball for others do quite well here and don't blow or crisp as easily in the dry heat. The heat here encouraged it to set A LOT of fragrant buds. They're really petal packed, luscious, fragrant and can stand heat. It's a great one so far for my hot and dry garden!

Love your Firefighter!! Mine is Night Owl. I took a chance and didn't cover my roses (big pots in garage) with blankets like I usually do. Night Owl was right at the front of the garage, and all winter long the garage door was opened and closed. The door was often left opened while we shoveled the driveway. There was no cane damage at all. It seems to be one tough rose!! BTW I'm in zone 3. Carol

I painted the entire inside of my home with Behr Ultra Stain Blocking Paint & Primer in One, which is low VOC paint. It is an excellent product, no issues, wonderful coverage too. I even got it with a 10% military discount from Home Depot ( I am a retired US Air Force Captain).
