You could use burlap to line it. You would need to put plastic on the inside to retain moisture. It would also keep it making the side of your house wet. There is also the dry spagnum moss that you can buy from the nursery. BUT it is expensive.....i wont do that again. carey

Interesting! I tend to go with plastic or glazed pots just because they need less watering that cocoa or fiber or unglazed pots. I use plain ol' Miracle-Gro all purpose container soil and have great luck (here in the Valley of the Sun). Let us know what you do and how it works out. When I've used cocoa fiber I did line it with some plastic shopping bags (with holes) to reduce mess and watering. Keep us posted and have fun! Happy gardening!

That's Pink Jasmine, Tressa, or sometimes called Chinese Jasmine (Jasminum polyanthum). But again, it also likes to vine more than trail, so you'd constantly be fighting its nature to want to grow upwards and along your hanging basket chains. And it is VERY prolific. Smells wonderful, but very vigorous plant, at least for us here in the coastal S. California climate. I considered it for my arbor/patio cover, but my landscaper and I decided against it due to it tending to look ratty and scraggly during a large part of the season. If you can get to it to prune, it's not bad, but I'm not inclined to climb up 10 feet to the top of my patio cover to clean it up :-) Patty S.

Hi I cant comment on the coconut thing but I can on the mix. You want something that drains well, so a 1:1:1 of Sphagnum Peat Moss, Sphagnum Moss and Perlite is a fine mix to use. Ok on californiacarnivores.com Peter has this to say: "Soil: Nepenthes enjoy loose, open soil that remains wet to moist but allows drainage of excess water. They are tolerant of a wide variety of soil mixes. The best include a portion of ling-fibered sphagnum, the rest of the medium being a combination of course materials. Our deluxe recipe is one part each of the following: long-fibered sphagnum, peat moss, perlite, pumice, lava rock, vermiculite, fine orchid bark, and charcoal." Hope that helps a little Cheers Sheldon
