Comments (3)I have a stargazer lily. I moved it to several locations and it never did much of anything, before I put it on the south side of my house. It loves it there, It may not flower for a year or 2 but it will flower. I'd post a picture of mine but I don't know how it's done on this site. Comments (1)Still an excellent time to plant lilies. Lily bulbs come with live roots on them and you don't want those to dry out and die, so don't leave the bulbs sitting around in dry air. Plant them, give them some water but don't waterlog, and perhaps give them a cover of mulch for extra winter protection of the newly-planted bulbs. Comments (2)Most lily growers figure it's always better to have the bulbs in the ground rather than anywhere else, no matter how late that happens to be. If they're in your unheated garage, they will freeze. (Well, they're happier frozen in the ground with the earth around them, than frozen in a box.) Comments (2)If you can find the bulbs this time of year in Minnesota... A newly planted bulb would likely put out a nice stalk of foliage, but blooms - I'm not so sure. The Orientals and Orienpets don't tend to be as reliably hardy in Minnesota as the Asiatics and true tiger lilies are. That said, peoples' MMV....See Moresilver_wlf
