Aluminum containers???
Comments (1)I wouldn't plant directly in it but would line the inside with something - either thick plastic sheeting (like the kind that comes in rolls in various "mil" thickness) or some sort of PVC insert or even thick trashbags that can be placed inside and then filled with soil for the plants. The inserts can be easily hidden with mulch, etc. Be aware that aluminum is highly conductive of heat so you may want to consider that if the plans are to use it in full sun (meaning alot more watering)....See MoreQuestion about aluminum wiring
Comments (2)we tore all ours out and the paneling and insulation and up graded the electrical panel. It was worth the hard work and I feel much safer that my computer, TV and other appliances didn't burn out. Aluminum is a lower volt 15 apm compaire to 12/2 copper. I added outdoor lighting, fan in bathroom more GFi's. It was worth the hard work....See MoreMetal in contact with container soil question
Comments (2)I doubt you have much to worry about. Aluminum is common in soils to varying degrees although not a required plant nutrient. Excessive levels can produce toxicity. Aluminum from a container or wrapped wood/branch can go into solution with a pH of around 5.0 or lower so as long as the container soil pH does not decline below that level (can be influenced by both watering and fertilization), there is little concern. And to my knowledge, no concern with steel....See MoreMetal in contact with container soil question
