Slow growing star jasmine
Comments (21)@sit_sat, would love to hear an answer to your question! I live in SoCal close to the coast and in a similar situation. A 50 ft long cinder block wall that is 6' high with 2' lattice on top.. Would like to plant 5 or 15 gallon Star Jasmine along the full 50' of length and see it fill the entire height & width! Not sure how long to expect until that happens based on either the 5 or 15 gallon plants? Like you, I would like to hear some pro advice on soil additives and watering schedule (can increase via sprinklers if it will help). My plants would be on North face of the wall so they would be shaded until they got up past the 6' cinder block fence. I also realize I will have to either string wire or place a trellis on the cinder block so they can cling to something. Any helpful advice would be appreciated. Thanks! Comments (28)I bought a Star Jasmine at the beginning of this summer and repotted it into a large ceramic pot that I would say is about 20 gallon size. I had it on my deck getting morning sun all summer and now that it is getting cold at night I brought it inside. Is it normal for it to shed leaves this time of year? I also read some where that they bloom better if they are some what root bound is this true? If so I am thinking it wasn't such a good idea to plant it in such a large pot. Here is a picture of what it looked like during its blooming cycle....See MoreWill maid of Orleans jasmine work in a hanging basket?
Comments (0)I ordered maid of Orleans jasmine thinking it would trail downward for a hanging basket. Now that it has arrived it doesn't look like it will work as I had planned, it appears more upright. If maid of Orleans won't work what are some fragrant trailing suggestions that can handle full sun indoors (besides Hoya)? Thanks....See Morerhizo_1 (North AL) zone 7
