FloraBuds, Just so you know, when I went back to the pharmacy to get my "medicine" for my Body and Soul, the exacums were in bad shape from over watering. Many of them had keeled over from damp rot. And the Party Times were $6!, not five. Still, I am glad I went for them. Does anyone know about their cultivation and growth haibits? The exacum looks like a ground cover to me. Thanks for the response...I brought them inside and in a couple of hours they perked back up. We are barely reaching 50 degrees today, so not quite sure if it was wetness or temps. My last frost date isn't until May 15th, so trying to keep them healthy til then.

Hi i girls. I'm kind of new here (I signed up a while back to talk about holly trees that were sick, lol, now I'm here to talk about menopause). Yes, the zest for life in general can sometimes feel like a complete zero for me too but I try to surround myself with positive things to combat that. My pets, good friends, my gardens, of course, and forcing myself to take more of an interest in my job. I'm a legal secretary. I think it's all a matter of mind over matter because all of the above seems to be working. I logged on because I was looking for advice/help in dealing with the physical changes. That muffin top that appeared out of nowhere to the point where none of my clothes fit anymore! It's driving me nuts. I've always enjoyed a waistline and now it doesn't exist anymore. In the past six months it's all but disappeared. I googled menopausal bloating and it appears to be a very real thing that I'm going to tackle with a vengeance. If anyone here has any hints or advice on how to deal with this I'd be grateful. I've never had a weight problem and never had to diet, which I'm very thankful for. I'm 5'3" and was always in the 112-116 area. This extra flab around my waist is really bothering me and when I learned that the body transfers fat from your hips and thighs to your waist I was shocked. I had no idea that was part of this miserable thing called "menopause". Any advice is welcome. Feel better ladies. You're not alone and I hope you all find peace in this incredibly difficult journey. You can actually safely under-water your plant. In my larger pots, I do not water for up to 10 days on days there isn't strong sun (this is winter I am talking of temp range from 04 degrees to 18 degrees celsius). While I have been advised not to grow in clay pots, I prefer to do so because the pot becomes a darker colour when well watered and lighter colour when it dries out. So I let the pot become a lighter colour and then wait for 3-4 days more before watering. In watering, you want to drench completely and let the water flow out the bottom. If your soil mix is right, water should start flowing out the bottom within a minute or so. Water thoroughly and sparingly. Your tree seems established, so there will be moisture it can take from the lower half of the pot even when the top soil is dry. That will do just fine in winter when photosynthesis is low. Do you have heating in the house?
