The hardest part for me - planting out.
Comments (4)I know, I know Aklinda. That WSing enthusiasm can sure take a discouraging dive when there is so much to "fix" in the beds before you can plant out. Even though I have battled bindweed, nutsedge, crabgrass, seemingly every weed plight known to man, I can say with certainty that it does get a little bit better each year. But I've got pretty easy, naturally fertile soil with lots of sand and drainage. I can't even imagine trying to do the hard digging that clay soils must require to get to the bottom of a wild onion. You must be exhausted. This year my biggest "weed" is rudbeckia goldstrum. Love it for late color but it multiples and seeds ridiculously fast. I am bringing old flats full of it into work and giving it away to colleagues who are just starting gardens almost every day for the past week. I remember Karen talking about Verbena Bon becoming an invasive weed and thinking - "oh I love that, it's not too bad here.." Wellllllllll,, now it is. Everywhere. But after 6? 7? years of WSing, the glorious thing is the places where weeds DO NOT FIT. Where I've got perennials back to back to side to side - tons of square footage that is densely covered. While I look with great admiration at gardens (here and in person) that have nicely spaced plants and room for MULCH in between to set them off, I'll never have that. Too much expensive for all the mulch I'd need, and I do think the weeds would somehow get in. I wish you access to a hot bath and a nice glass of vino Aklinda! Keep on keeping on. Comments (21)Michele, put the guilt as far away from you as you can, because the only thing you are guilty of is being a caring, loving Mommy who had to do what was best for her baby. You did not wish her to suffer any longer and because she LOVED you so much she went peacefully and happy and she felt your love. As I stated previously - she was telling you it was okay with her look and as she went peacefully to sleep she took her Mom's love with her as it was the last thing she saw. She could have so easily stayed around and died a slow painful death and you might not have been there when she passed. As it was she had the opportunity to tell you she loved you and was glad you were there with her. As I face the potential rupture of my husband's aortic aneutysm that will be the most horrendous pain for approzximately 3 - 4 minutes I wish I have the ability to inject him with something that would tak the pain away and allow him to die in peace. I pray every night that he passes from some other cause. It is so hard to watch someone including pets suffer. The selfish par of you wants to keep them around as long as you can, but the love part of you wants to put an end to the suffring and allow them to leave this world in peace and surrounded by love. The only thing you are guilty of is having taken excellent care of your baby and loving her with your heart and soul. You were there for each other and it will hurt for some time but YOU ARE NOT guilty. I wish I were there to spend time with you and just talk. I love you. Comments (8)Just an update - all that worry, and the treadmill part was so easy I could not believe it. I was a little short of breath when they finished and said I had reached my target heartrate. I was amazed, as I am very out of shape. Clothes did not matter there -The second worst part was having to wear this huge gown, no bra, pretty open in the front for all the wires although they did tape it for me - the armholes were so big you could see every thing anyways. The very worst part was when the technician kept jamming the ultrasound wand under & into my breast before and after the treadmill. I had to brace myself on the table she was pushing it in so hard, I thought she would push me off. Something was really pinching into me when she pushed, Not sure if it was a probe with a wire attached that was being pushed in by the wand or just the tip of the wand. THAT really hurt, almost as bad as the mammo. I had a mammo and the stress test back to back, but it was done quick so I had time to treat myself on my half day off to some shopping, but I got dizzy halfway thru the store so did not buy anything. I must say, This was the very worst (painful) mammo I have ever had too. Also, the blood pressure monitor for the stress test, wow, I have never had anyone cuff me so-o-o-o tightly before(three times!). She said something about the "lower your pressure is the tighter they have to wrap..." or such - never heard that before. No doctors were present when I was there, just the technicians, who were quite nice. Well, wonder when I will see the results. (Last time it took a month to hear from Dr. on my mammo, then another month to get an appt, then another month to get a referral for breast ultrasound, then same for a needle aspiration..)...See MoreAm I the only one who bawls???/
Comments (31)Just about anything does it for me - movies, television shows, music. You would think I was the one having the baby on the TLC series, "Baby Story" because I'm crying along with the new parents. I, too, cry with Christmas songs. Two, especially, do it to me: Kenny Rogers, "A Child Is Born" and Nat King Cole's, "A Christmas Song". I also bawl during the Nativity scene at the "Radio City Christmas Show". When I see the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade, I choke up. I really am hopeless....See Moredelicateflower2015
