OK, Ya'll got me backin' my backside up against a fireproof brick wall. Take a kiddie pool full of water, put a concrete block in the middle, put a gallon jug on the block, and stick a candle in it. Do not lite it though. But just in case lightning strikes and lites the candle, keep a fire extinguisher close by. LOLOLOLOLO Sorry guys. I was imagining my *iron* table which sits on a *brick* patio and has a *metal* gazebo frame that could hold a candle chandi. The walls around it are plastic lattice. The gazebo is bordered by rocks pretty much and there are no trees or grass. Given all that information I guess I could just throw the wicker down on the patio and light it. LOLOLOLOLOLO Now Seriously- Last year it got so dry close to here that the sparks from a 4 wheeler started a fire out in a pasture area. I know about how easy it must be to cause a fire. I promise that was not me on the 4-wheel-deal. Ha I have trouble even getting the gas grill to come on.

What the heck kind of burlap did they use? Any bit of burlap I left on degraded by the end of the season. I'm not saying leave it on, but the ones I did leave it on it degraded. As for the wire baskets, those won't rust away for years and years. I bought a small bolt cutter to cut away the top half of the wire basket. Those are a joke and should NOT be left on. I had to cut a tree down only after 2 seasons and its root system was all tangled in the basket.

I doubt people in 1910-20 washed their hair as often as we do. Forget about conditioner. My stylish, socially active mom had a weekly appt. at the hairdresser's and never washed her own hair. She'd even go in for a mid-week comb-out. I think those little wire baskets look nice if you need to retrofit the space. Nicer than bottles lining the ledge of the tub. For a new build, I don't understand not considering a niche, as long as you don't go overboard in number and size. The spray in my shower doesn't reach mine. It doesn't really get wet inside. Once a week I wipe the bottom in case there's a drip of shampoo I missed. My bathroom isn't particularly contemporary (it's a style I actually avoid) and my niche doesn't add to it.

I love these hanging baskets. I use a gallon size plastic bag punctured in a few places between the potting mix and the coir, like you did. Calibrachoa, or million bells, and petunias perform very well in these if you give them a lot of sun, feed them regularly and keep them well watered. Here's one of my baskets from last year, near the beginning of the summer. The white flowers are bacopas, a charming trailing plant. The petunias and calibrachoas trail a lot more as they grow. You'll need to prune them if they start to get sparse or leggy. The one difference I have with what you did is that I used 5-1-1 with extra peat. These plants prefer a fairly acidic, fast draining mix. And you really need to fertilize them often if you want them to keep flowering.
