Does anyone own Brinkmann 2400 Grill?

Does anyone own the Brinkmann ProSeries 2400 3-burner (plus side burner) gas grill that can be purchased at Lowe's for $199? I'm thinking about buying it, but wondering if it's "too good to be true" for that price. If you own it, let me know what your experience has been with it, good or bad.

Hello neighbor, don't have the Brinkman, but we just bought a similar priced one at Sears. We specifically went to Sears because of the support their have shown for our armed forces. Not only are they paying differential to their employees, they are picking up the tab for health insurance for the employees called up. We don't have anyone in the family serving, but figured it was a way to support the companies that support our troops. Just a thought. Suz

christineny - Any standard enriched bread recipe will make burger/dog buns, so pick from any of your favorites. You really don't need a special recipe. I do have some tips I'll share that hopefully will make some sense. 1. If you happen to have muffin top pans (usually 6/pan and are very shallow, about 1/2-inch deep), they work great for helping to form a nice round burger/sandwich bun, but on a cookie sheet is just fine. There are pans designed for both hamburger and hot dog buns, but I've improvised and used what I already have. I also have a Pizza Piccolo Pan (12 shallow impressions - I got it from King Arthur) that I use to make small sandwich buns (1.5-2 oz. dough). I measure the dough 2-4 oz. for regular burger buns (depending on how large I need them). You can go larger if you like, just remember 1 oz. of bread is a serving, so you can have a lot of bread servings tied up in one bun - it's already at least 2-servings. After you form the dough ball, pat it to about 1/2-inch thick (oil your hands for easy handling of the dough). Cover and allow to rise per usual... 2. The amount of dough for hot dog buns is approximately the same size as the hot dogs you are going to use (also 2-4 oz.), rolled to approximately the same length and size as the hot dog you are using. I scale (weigh) the dough for hamburger buns and hot dog buns so that they are close to the same size when done. I bake hot dog buns two at a time in small loaf pans (3-1/4x5-3/4-inches). This is convienent for me because I can bake a couple if I have extra bread dough from making loaves, and we only use 2 at a time and these freeze nicely wrapped in a pop-up sheet of foil I get from Sam's Club. When the panned hot dog buns are done/cool, I pull the two apart and slice each one down the middle, but not quiet completely through. These are perfect for holding a hot dog that I butterfly open (one cut almost completely through) and grilled open. You can also place the hot dog size pieces of dough on a baking sheet to raise/bake individually. Another option is to place them in a pan for pull-apart hot dog buns - use a pan about 5-6 inches wide, which is the approximate length of most hot dog buns (disposable 8-1/4x5-1/4x1-inch foil pans work pretty good for 5 hot dog buns for regular hot dogs). I always keep individually wrapped burger/sandwich buns in the freezer. -Grainlady

I bought one when they first came out. Back then they were pretty tiresome to use. You have to really lean on it to get it to extract the air and seal and it makes a very loud sound while doing so. I kept it in the laundry room on the counter. It's fine but recently it broke after all these years and I was glad to get it off of the counter top. I find that I just don't need it. We have grocery stores very near and I don't normally buy in bulk anymore since it's just the two of us. The bags are expensive at least it seems and I'm not going to wash them out like it says you can (what I need, another job) so I would run out of them not realizing I was close to the end. I would put off ordering because you had to order a lot of them at a time and I didn't really want to spend $30-40 dollars for bags and so I would put it off and then forget about it. You can get them at Costco but the combinations of bags were not what I was looking for or they were just the rolls and so many of them! Something else to store! Then for the longest time you couldn't get the larger ones and the small ones are not useful for me. You can make your own but it was sort of a pita. It was freeing to be rid of it. One less thing on my counter and I'm enjoying the extra space I have now. If I had a large family and bought in bulk quite often and had a lot of freezer space I think it would be very helpful, if not, then I don't really think it's that necessary.

If I were you I would consider purchasing a new 24" washer/dryer stack. The Maytag dryer you own is about 16yrs old and could fail at anytime. There having been numerous 24" compact washer/dryer stacks introdcued to the market since 2004. I would only consider: MIele $2400 - $4500 Bosch $1600 -$2000 (I like the 800 Series $2000) Electrolux $1900 Whirlpool $1900 I'm not a fan of Samsung or LG products.

Fire is more dangerous than steam. Opti myst looks like fire, its almost impossible to tell the difference (look at this youtube video). Opti myst produces the moisture of 1-2 person so isn't a big deal or any extra effort for my AC system in a 2400 sqf house. Plus I only use it in special occasions or maybe a couple of hours at night when I wanna relax in front of it. My concerns are the others I listed in the questions posted above.

I bought this grill at the end of April. Got it home and put it together only to discover I had a faulty hose assembly. Finally got in touch with Brinkman and they said they'd send me a new part. Received the new part last week. It's the wrong model part. I have to call again and hope they send me the right one this time. I certainly hope this grill works real good - that is, when it is fixed.

We just bought this grill today and have put it together. It looks great, but the "burner venturi" tube from the side grill is supposed to be able to have the propane tube seat firmly in it. The gas tube simply sits in an open area of the plastic burner venturi which looks like something is missing because there is nothing preventing the gas from leaking out. Is this the problem Lisa_MI had? The plastic end of the burner venturi unit has a sticky glossy look like something was attached to it . . .
Obviously, I am not going to try to use the side burner until I get this figured out!

I just bought a 2400 last night, and after putting it together, I am having the same concern as nascarla is with the side burner. The end of the hose just sits in the venturi. It seems to me that it needs to be sealed, but I didn't see anything missing. I am going to run back over to Lowes (where I bought it) and take a look at the one they put together, and see how the side burner is connected. I will also try to ask someone there about it. I'll let you guys know what I find out.

DO NOT BUY BRINKMANN!

I loved my ProSeries 2720 the first year. That's all I can say that's been positive. Been a downhill battle of trying to get parts ever since!

I have also been waiting months for a part (Main Burner Support) and while it stated it was on backorder, it had a date that it would be available.

So I give a credit card, it's charged immediately, and for MONTHS I keep getting new updated dates of when they'll have this instrumental part. As soon as the date gets close, they add another 4-5 weeks to the "anticipated" date.

Don't waste your time trying to call them either... They must have one person, part time who hates their job answering phones, so they DON'T. Every time I've tried getting through to them on the phone, I've listened to the "on hold" music for 40 -45 minutes (real time... timer on my office phone) with no one ever picking up.

If you email "customer service" (I use the term loosely in their case) they respond with rude and abrupt answers.

STEER CLEAR OF BUYING BRINKMANN. The are really one of the worse companies (grills or otherwise) that I've ever bought from. I won't make the mistake of buying anything from them ever again!

REALLY! Steer clear from this company who doesn't care at all about the end-user (you and me) who actually use their grills, but only how many they sell to the Big Box stores, like Wal-Mart, Lowes, Menards, etc....

DO NOT BUY A BRINKMANN GRILL. I will never ever purchase another Brinkman product. I purchased the "Pro" model and it was, in my opinion, very poorly designed. The "stainless" metal even rusted to mention the burners rusted, ignitor failed, gas regulator quit, gas hose kinked, drawer rollers fell off, all the screws rusted (poor choice of metal for outdoor use) chrome plated racks rusted, porcelin grates rusted, and all this in three years use and fully covered with a full length grill cover.

Three years use for around $500.00, cheaper to order out. Find another brand!!!

We have a Brinkman Pro Series 2200. We have had it about 5 years and we use it almost everyday and it is just now going to pot..............in fact I am thinking of turning it into a flower pot and buying hubby a new grill when they start doing close out pricing. I believe we paid 150.00 for it. We were able to buy some replacement parts at Home Depot. We have a charbroil I got off of freecycle and hubby wants to fix it as it has a side burner. I think it would make a better Flower Pot. :)

I bought the pro 2400 two years ago have to through it out ,everything inside rusted will never buy another brinkman

I've got one 2400 pro series do they sell new for 199 just curious it works great but my husband passed away I'm going to sell was trying to find out what people give for used one it's in good condition

Does anyone own Brinkmann 2400 Grill?
