I did order the alligator. Probably won't do any good. It's actually a 3-piece alligator that move "lifelike" in the pond. Kind of creepy actually. Will probably scare the grandkids more than the birds. My pond is not really big. There is a very small upper pond with no fish that flows into a short stream and the lower pond is not much larger, and similar shape, to a grand piano. It's right off my deck and patio. We've had it for 15+ years and never had a problem until we took down those trees. I am hoping that due to the small size of the pond the bird would not want to dive in with that floating object in there, even though it may not know what it is. A floating island probably would have served the purpose and would have been chepaer and not so scary. It's too early here to get plants due to cold weather. I will leave the net on for a few weeks and see if more plants and the alligator do the trick.

Linda C, you jumped the gun before I could reply to Linda's question. Sure I have a sense of humor but now I'm not sharing my recipe for diced alligator salsa. I also have a good food processor and I do use my chef's knife for many things but that's beside the point. I think my question has been answered. As is usually the case, some like it and some don't. I actually had Annie's Salsa in mind. I preferred using my chef's knife to the food processor but I got mighty tired by the end of a chopping, slicing, mincing, dicing day. I've used a website called easyrgb.com quite a bit, it's very useful! You put in the name of your paint, and then the brand. Then click on harmonies. It will give you several options, and you can find out the names (and/or formulas) for those paints. Give it a try! I checked, and I found yours there! hth :)

When I have restored, I use Formby’s with acetone and steel wool. The Forby’s gets the top coat dissolved which you can further take off to clean stage with the Acetone. It will actually leave the stain in place. Make sure all the hardware is off because you will end up doing the whole piece. Once the piece is clean you can then add the strip to the sides to replace the veneer that is missing. I prefer using flexible veneer, contact cement with the correct roller tools so you have no bubbles. You then trim the excess off. Use a natural stain, then you can use a lacquer top coat or poly wipe for top coat. Be sure to use fine steel wool between coats with a tack cloth. If you want to get fancy, look up a French finish for the top. But you will have Popeye arms by the end of the project.
