Well I can't take credit for any of these beyond having germinated & grown them out. Even then you all deserve a lot of the credit for tutoring me all the way. All are from purchased seed. My goal with these was first, to learn the process, and second to get some bridge plants with good up-to-date genetics for future hybridizing. I also wanted to post the good & the bad because I know there are other newbies like myself out there. Most people only post the best pictures of the best behaved seedlings but it helps me to know what to expect if I see both good & bad blooms as the plant matures. More excitement in the seedling bed the past 2 days. Here is FFO on the third sibling from the 'Spacecoast Sharptooth' x 'Wisest of Wizards' cross. I'm really excited about this one. It is the second best branched of the cross and great increase (4 fans already). The edge is incredible. I've never seen so much metallic gold. Crossed it with 'Cleopatra's Jewel' just for the edge. Hope it keeps its bright colors. Here are two FFO today from a new cross 'Jennifer Trimmer' x 'Maltese Falcon' This first one is very difficult to capture correctly on camera. The color is maroon & gold, exactly the color of my high school colors. The sepals & eyezone are stippled softly and the finish is a nice crepe texture. Good height at 24" and 5.75" flower. BC 10 BR 3 trying for 4th. The second is smoother, shinier finish and less green to the throat. 19" x 5" BC & BR a little less than sibling -001. And finally, much improved blooms on 3 of the 'Fencing Master' x 'China Clipper' cross. -002 I can't even believe its the same plant. It was nice to have all three of them blooming at the same time to compare side-by-side.

gonegardening thanks and you're right. I should try crossing it with something else that I like better. I just have a feeling that orange is a dominant color and it's going to show up in whatever I cross with lol. Laurie that's the Annabelle that ate my yard lol. My Annabelle hydrangeas are trying to take over the world. But I love them! Ed you're so right. : ) Jean thanks but it really is pretty orange. Thank you Nicki! Dick thanks. The flowers are about 7 inches across. The scapes are about three feet high and maybe a foot above the foliage. Your yellow sounds great. Good luck with it and I'll look for pictures from you.

Hi Heather, I was perusing around the forum for an answer to a question I was thinking of asking, then I came across your query on a posting of which answer is exactly what I am looking for: "Regarding the ladybugs.....are the Bayer granules that were used the systemic stuff? I ask because if the mealies eat the systemic treated leaves and the ladybugs eat them the ladybugs will also get poisoned, right?" Three weeks ago, when I found mealy bugs on some Adenium seedlings, I separated the batch from others and applied the granules. It was very effective on the mealy bugs and aphids. I still have them quarantined so I could study long-term effects on the plants. I was thinking of using the granules on all the other seedlings I have, but then discovered several lady bugs among them. I definitely do not want to harm the ladybugs. Please share if you got your question answered. Thanks, -bong

Hi Rob, I live in a area where there is very few garden shops unfortunately. There is one I found this year that has beautiful Succulents but only a few small cactus. They did not have any Adeniums at all. I actually had never heard of them until I happened upon these poor ones at Walmart just running thru the garden area one day. So glad I took a chance on them. Only issue I am noticing is one plant has some leaves turning brown on the tips then yellowing. Any idea what is going on and a solution? I just noticed it so I moved that one away from the others. The ones that have had leaves turning yellow before falling off are doing much better but they did not turn brown. It is frustrating living so far away from a area that we can't find everything we need. Can not find any "equal numbered" fertilizer like 20-20-20 except for 1 all purpose 4-4-4 which you sprinkle around the soil anywhere here. What fertilizer do you recommend? I am hoping Amazon has what I need simply because I can get within a day or 2. I am new this year to any type gardening be it inground or container! Sorry for asking what some might think are crazy questions. Your Adeniums are beautiful by the way!
