Comments (7)I assume the house does have an actual entrance of some sort, just on some other side of the house? Where is the driveway? I think it would be pointless to try to create some fake architecture that resembles an entrance, without being one. I guess my inclination would be to just de-emphasize the view of the house from the street, paint in earthy colors, get rid of the lawn and put in trees, shrubs, flower beds - some sort of attractive landscaping there for the neighbors to look at instead of an entrance to a house. It is what it is - I think I would actually would love the privacy aspect of it - play up the feel of a secluded house in the woods or parklike setting. Bigger windows would help too - one reason being that if you have more naturalistic setting you would then have a better view to look at. But don't do tall skinny windows - the windows would proportionately need to be the same, as appropriate for midcentury homes whichstill had that strong prairie influence (horizontal lines, broad wide windows, etc....See MoreHow do I add modern design to a split-level exterior?
Comments (9)White trim, white around the windows. SW Attitude Gray. I think you could do a lot with landscaping. We can't see the entrance and that is usually the focal point to the front of a house. The right side of the house dominates as it is more forward and two story. For that reason I decided not to paint the gable in another color. It would just draw more attention. Comments (29)You're definately off to a good start with the new front door, new windows, and nice new lighting fixtures. I don't know if you've painted the house yet but look good on the picture. The only comment I have is on the white strip under the roof line that looks like aluminium siding. I would make that whole section dark to match the wood columns. Nice landscaping will definately give the house curb appeal....See MorePaint colors/curb appeal help for brick + stucco split level
Comments (27)The lime wash on the brick will create a nice background for new plant materials. Just create curved maybe kidney shaped bed large on ends keeping plant materials a good 12-14” from house. This leaves room for air circulation and growth. Then the coordinating white for remaining siding of house keeps painting easier. You need a distinctive “gate-type” entry to porch to welcome visitors and show them in. Good Feng Shui when front door isn’t very visible from front area. It also broadens look of house. This has a lot of great potential. You can paint the peak above brick in front the Dried Thyme or white from brick. Whichever appeals more. The Red Barn or deep red/orange color compliments the roof and can be used for trim detail if desired. Just pick deep color hat works with roof. If you plan to replace roof, black is a good neutral color too. Goes with any roof. With lime wash any roof color will work. Just think total plan through so in the end you have a cohesive look. It’s going to be amazing. Take lots of pictures now from all angles. Then you will have great “before” pics to post for us with great “after” photos!...See MoreRachel Matos
