What sheen of paint should I choose for bedroom and living room?
Comments (1)Hi Jane..., Sheen choice is such a subjective thing obviously. Some like a "glow" on the walls from nightstand lamps, etc., & others' don't. Some feel Flat finishes look rich, but cleanability drops off. Overall, the Eggshell SHEEN (not color) seems the most popular in our store. Consider your cleaning-styles/frequency too. If you're a fussy cleaner, Flat might not be for you; UNLESS you use a Premium-flat like C2 or ACE'S Sensations flat with Scotchguard-VERY cleanable. Don't be scared to "go deep" with color, if only on an accent wall. Deeper colors in Bedrooms can feel very cozy & warm...kind of the way a Bedroom should be! Be aware though, some dark colors need a dark primer under them. TWO topcoats still needed though!! (Of course, big color changes usually lead to new drapes, etc., etc.,.... ;-) Faron...See MoreWhat color(s) should I repaint this bedroom?
Comments (4)The room should only be dark if the panels are closed and I do want it dark then. I will leave the panels open most of the day and close them at night for privacy. The light wall behind the dark panels doesn't look good to me. Maybe painting all the walls to match that dark chocolate color is too dark, but I could also try painting it to match the color of the wall near the head of the bed is enough (or else some other new coordinating color), but I don't like the light wall behind dark panels. I have seen some "dark" painted rooms that look good....See MoreWhat color should I paint master bedroom walls with lots of sun?
Comments (15)With all that dark furniture I wonder if dark flooring would be a good idea, although I don't know how well dark furniture and a light floor would go together. You could always cover a large portion of the floor with a beautiful Oriental rug with colors that you love and then pull your bedding, pillow and drape colors from that. You could still have a white duvet and focus the color on the pillows. You could choose a soft, pale green for the walls and take that as your inspiration for rugs, drapes, etc. I do think some of these items should have patterns with added colors such as yellow, pale blue, green and a touch of pink or terracotta to add warmth. I would look for pictures on houzz and elsewhere for traditional bedrooms and that should give you wealth of ideas....See Morewhat color bedroom furniture goes with silver strand paint in bedroom?
Comments (6)Thank you Ingrid! Love the color accent choices and especially the terracotta idea. Maybe I can Incorporate the color with the bedding and pillows. Looking into artwork. Would the headboard be light or dark if the furniture is black?...See MoreAnn
