Her daughter is giving her mother a gift, and by not standing in her way, a huge sacrifice. The Mom is fortunate to have this option and of course fortunate to have 96 years. I would talk about how wonderful her Mom is, and then mostly listen.
I know of a couple people that have had trees stolen from their land. It's usually black walnut that disappears around here. It's heartbreaking and I'm glad the people in your story will be prosecuted. I hope it's a deterrent for others.
It's a pity you removed everything that was there without assessing its value for your new plans. If the previous owners were gardeners you might have saved a lot of money by reusing good, mature plants. Too late now, sadly, unless you've thrown them in a distant corner on your property. Hydrangeas and boxwood are so common, you might already have some.
I too had been thinking of her recently; I didnt know she had Alzheimer’s. I’ve missed her KT voice and hope she’s having a good chat with Seniorgal, etc.
My in-laws still tell the story of the time their toddler (my husband) ran into a cactus in the front yard, and then spent the afternoon in the ER having a doctor pull needles out one by one. FIL dug up every single cactus that weekend. Gigantic "no" to cacti lining a walkway.
I’d say your landscaper has an overstock of cacti he/she needs to unload.
Or he/she doesn’t know what he/she is doing.
Or both.
Good morning my dear virtual friends. i was blown away by all your words of love and support. i am feeling a bit better today.
i know time is what i need and i do try to stay strong .
i have one daughter and one grand daughter and i know i have to be here for them.
A few asked about my DH, I met him through work , we were married for 57 years . He was a very kind and generous person. he would always want to help others and i never heard him say a bad word about anyone, he accepted everyone as they were.
He had a beautiful close relationship with our daughter and GD.
again thank you for being here for me and i come to the forum often now to pass some time and read about what others are up to.
Don't use landscape fabric. Weeds seed into it and are very difficult to remove. Bermuda grass is very difficult to eliminate, It spreads both underground and by seed. You can dig it out (hard work) but it is difficult to get it all. What sort of path do you plan to make. Where does it lead?
Whenever I'm having a bad day, I remember the isle of Banda, April 2, 1778. They had a typhoon, an earthquake and a volcanic eruption all on the same day. Now *that's* a bad day!
I had to laugh this morning -- I was driving along and saw a guy walking down the street wearing eclipse glasses. Can't be too careful, I guess!
