Yes Flora - I saw one 2 years ago in my clearing (which is stuffed with silene dioica - apparently they like pink). It was one of the most thrilling experiences and really increased my obsession tenfold from that point. They breed across the river in Surlingham (which is in a direct flightline from the wood) so I think that if I can establish a stand or 2 of milk parsley, it is almost a certainty that the butterflies will find, and lay on them. My God, I am honestly almost sick with excitement. I managed to find some ridiculously expensive seeds a few years ago (which failed to germinate) and once got my hands on a couple of plants which failed to set seed and died. So yep, I must avoid cossetting and fussing although I will indeed be fencing the area with chestnut palings and chicken wire as well as being brutal with a glyphosate weed wiper (because I don't want to disturb the soil by massive digging). I am planning on adding fennel, bunium, chaerophyllum and cenolophium to the planting area...and silene and lychnis flos jovi.

In open concept things don't have to match they just need to coordinate. Choose colors you want in the space and use them in varying degrees in both parts of the room. The rug you have under the table is too big for that space. I would move it into the living room part of the room but orient it the opposite direction. Center it in that space with the window and use it as a guide for furniture placement. You should have at least a foot of hardwoods showing on all sides. Art should be placed with centers at about 60". a grouping should be placed as if it were one piece. Color should be repeated around the room to keep your eyes moving in the space. Center the dining table under the light and lower the light closer to the table. If you do bring in another rug it should also be centered under the light along with the table.Try the table turned the other way. The room will feel less cramped if you can comfortably walk all the way around the table grouping. When I move into a new place I try different furniture placement out for a few weeks then change things up and live with another position for awhile until I find what works in the room best for my lifestyle. Looks like you have a great start. I also love saving money buying at thrift stores and online. Gotta love a deal.

A small bath needs FEW materials/changes. Go back to the tile shop. The combinations of mosaic and large format are nearly infinite. You are in love with ONE thing from a display. : ) It's not the only tile you can love, nor the only sleek pale beige and ivory bath possible. I don't see the "fantastic" in it, quite honestly. Maybe its the picture.You don't even NEED an accent in the wall tile. Tile doesn't "absorb" . EVER. That's its purpose. Unless you mean needing no seal. That is true of all porcelain tiles. Only stones, marble, slate would need a seal prior to install. PS........ take my advice. Skip the ivory for WHITE > Much fresher and modern
