Mother and Child Reunion?

Today, I experienced a different kind of thing. It was called "chicken salad", but it was really finely chopped egg salad with pieces of poached chicken tenders in it. It was really good, but a bit mind-blowing. And firmly installed Paul Simon as the earworm du jour.

Any new-to-you interpretations of classic dishes surprising you recently?

Huh. I have had hard boiled eggs in chicken salad before, but never what you describe.

There is a new mexican place on my way to work. I ordered a Guacamole sampler out of curiosity. Classic guacamole, and then 3 other variations. One had blue cheese and bacon mixed in, another had grilled onions and poblanos, and the last was basically guacamole and salsa mixed together. None of them were something I would want again. Not even the classic one, which lacked seasoning and flavor, no heat, no brightness, nothing. Basically just plain, squished avocadoes. I did not expect to love the blue cheese one, as I am not a huge fan of blue cheese, but I am open to being pleasantly surprised, and I do not HATE it, its just not something I usually choose. The others I had higher hopes for. Alas, my hopes were dashed.

I love your dark pink "child" hibiscus, woody. My hibiscus include a white with red eye, a dark burgundy, and a white all grown from traded seed and a Plum Crazy. Also planted a deep red, Fireball, this spring. Surprising I don't have any pink. There is a Pink Swirl that I have my eye on at a local nursery. May pick it up if it is still there in another week or two when they have their fall close out sale.

Never heard of it, but all of the actors are top-notch. I may have to put it on my queue. We watched "The Town" last night. Stars Ben Affleck and Jeremy Renner and is about bank robbers in the Charlestown section of Boston. It was good, but my gripe is that you are actually rooting for the bad guys. These guys are murderous thugs, and yet you want them to get away with it. In real life, you would want these guys captured or killed.

It's entirely possible that the child asked him mom to do that for fun, (I read dad's explanation,) but if that was the case she showed poor judgment in agreeing to do it. It did look to me like he may have bonked his head on the corner. It also didn't look like she was in the least bit angry.
