Wood island countertops... an odd request for kitchen places??
Comments (8)LOL - I agree! I live on the Northshore, and when I first fell in love with the idea of a walnut top for our breakfast bar, I also ran into the same problem. I now work at a kitchen showroon, but I know we're not supposed to advertise on here, so I guess I can't say which one. We do carry CraftArt, but I've never had anyone show me how we'd order from them, nor have I had anyone ask me for wood countertops. I will say that I did find a kitchen showroom in Mandeville who quoted me a John Boos walnut top - really not a bad price compared to two estimates I had gotten online from other parts of the country which were very $$$. If you go on John Boos' web site and look for dealers, the kitchen showroom I'm talking about should come up - that's how I found them. Now, she didn't look thrilled to work up the quote for me, but she did it....See MoreHelp with kitchen counter-tops is really needed...
Comments (42)for the handles, may I suggest something to pick up on the hues in the flooring? A little more copper toned. you have light cabs, light floors. I think throwing in a dark ORB w/o actual copper highlights would be too much of a contrast. IMO. cypress park Sandra, I like the porcelain one better than the other one. Does the backsplash have to be done immediately? If the tones in the porcelain tile you picked clash w/the ivory tones in the counter, it could be a problem. However, I did find some copper toned ones that should be avail. these are porcelain/SS, and treated so as not to stain or tarnish. I LOVE these for your kitchen. timeless and gorgeous. They are probably not super cheap, but it would be worth it for me. http://www.miusartmosaics.com/arabesque-lantern-beacon-copper-tile-in these would also work. the site is here: maybe they have them in stock.http://www.westsidetile.com/arabesque-tiles/ i like this one too. notice the copper faucet. beautiful w/the glass mosaic. if you got the cream countertop, this would look amazing w/your floors. this last one is a copper colored slate/quartzite....See MoreNeed help picking counter to complement Sensa Waterfall on island
Comments (6)Wow! That's a beautiful stone. Azul Platino seems like a poor contrast. Too busy to be a quiet background player. It's not that big of a kitchen, for having 2 cabinet colors and 2 countertop types. I like your idea of a simple black granite, that minimizes the contrast between the countertops. Have you considered a white quartz or Corian? Something with very minimal pattern that makes the perimeter a monochrome white to set off your dramatic island....See MoreHelp with kitchen island/counter tops
Comments (2)Actually you need 42" - 48" clearance between perimeter counters and island. If you're not having seating at the island, you need a minimum of 36" between it and the wall on the opposite side. If you have enough room, I'd opt for the wood island with the black granite. It will be too hard to match whites....See More- 20 days agolast modified: 20 days ago
