Paint peeling off Bosch range knobs
Comments (10)Discovered the paint peeling off my Bosch range knobs last night. The knobs were sticky to the touch and so I wiped them off with a sponge and lo and behold I discover that the paint is coming off! My range was installed August 18 and I was away on vacation for 10 days....so it didn't take too long for the paint to melt off! I called the appliance store where I purchased the range and they readily agreed to send me another set of knobs. I guess I'll keep my new set of knobs in a special place and take them out for use on the holidays! I think I'll write a letter to Bosch too. I expect better engineering than this! Everything else has worked well with the range, though it does take longer to bring a big pot of water to the boil than it did with my old Jenn-Air electric coil burner....but oh I love that click click click sound when the gas goes on!...See Morechild friendly ranges?
Comments (5)We searched for a child friendly professional style range and are happiest with Lacanche (in the same price point as a wolf). Their doors are much heavier than the wolf was and don't get hot when in use like many do. (Do not assume that they don't get hot...many get very hot!). There is a shield you can install to keep happy hands from the stove top and knob guards. We'll probably go with the general theory of no, and a combination of the shield and knob guard. While fairegold's children may have listened to "no" the first time, I find my 18 month old tends to wonder if that silly word really does apply to him :o) Supervision is all fine and dandy, but if the range front gets so hot you can't walk by it and touch the door...it's not safe in a home with children. By the way, do visit the appliance forum and do a search. You'll find much information about the appliances you've listed, and others that are great. THe Lacanche is one you should look at if that heat factor on the front is a worry for you, and you'll soon see, everyone says stay as far away from a viking stove as you can! They're nightmares when it comes to the multiple service problems they all seem to have....See MoreBump out Bosch induction range
Comments (16)M Miller, my parent with Alzheimers could have made the same statement. Alzheimers or not, memory loss of any kind is difficult. joelcoqui. start a file box and label them so you understand them. This is what I did for our renovation. Folders labeled Layout, Appliances, Tile, Flooring, Lighting, Cabinets, Names and Numbers..etc. keep that to refer back to. Make a note that yes, you can do a bump out with that range. I wouldn't want one as I'd bruise myself on it, but if it's for cookie sheets, I like AFritzler's idea of an angled bump out. I also think it'd be more attractive than one with a 90 degree corner....See MoreLG Studio 30" Induction range vs. Bosch Benchmark 30" range
Comments (30)@peanutmiracle I purchased a sheet of silicone and used various-size cans and a small bowl to make different-sized circular pads, which I then cut out. I place three or four pads down to support the edges of a pot, or I will use a single bigger pad for my tea kettle (because the single pad can be hidden underneath the kettle and left out on the cooktop full-time. Otherwise, the pads are placed on the stovetop only when I am using a hob. There is a theory that the pads could serve to lengthen the lifetime of a hob's performance, because the hot pot is not making direct contact with the stovetop, keeping the stovetop cooler. I mostly use the Hunts tomato sauce size. I use the biggest one for my tea kettle. Another advantage to using the pads is it helps you eyeball where to place the pot once the pads are in place. I see the link no longer offers the blue color--in case you are wondering. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07SZM2QDX/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&th=1...See MoreSweet Potato
