Quite a number of years ago the Dow Jones Industrial Index was way above the Canadian major index, then they became closer, and for a short while, several years ago, the major Toronto index was ahead, then was below again for some time.

In recent years, the Canadian index was somewhat lower, then came closer, and they have been near one another for some time.

The major Toronto index closed over 15,000 yesterday, for the first time.

So - is the next mark to be 16,000?

Or 14,000?

The Canadian index is heavy with resources, including mines and oils, though in recent years some of the major ones were sold to foreign public or private agencies and removed from the Toronto excchange, and financials, with much less recent hassle over over-extended mortgages than has been the situation in the U.S.

And 4 or 5 years ago, about 65 - 69 U.S. cents bought CAD$1.00 ... now it takes US$1.015 to buy CAD$1.00.

Many U.S. investors bought some Canadian oil stocks, back when their Dollar would buy a Loonie and a half ... it would have been wise for some other U.S. people to have bought some Canadian oil stocks then, as well.
