I think most of the non-yellow colors are too pastel. It took me a minute to realize some of them weren't white in different light. Keep in mind that bright sun will wash out the look of the pastel colors and over time they will fade away too. The Tame Teal is the only non-yellow I think has enough color. I'm not generally a yellow person, so I'd be more likely to use that teal or go even more blue or green. I think I'd like an admiral to navy blue.

You might try posting this on the Home Decorating forum. I think a red door and darker gray would look great on your house.

I think you have to take certain things into account when choosing a door color and ask yourself, do you want it to be a reflection of your personality, or do you want it to be what everyone expects? With that said, is there an HOA that limits self expression? What region do you live in, and whats acceptable? So, anyone could sit here and say, red, yellow, blue, purple or whatever. It can be whatever you chose it to be, as you really have a neutral base. You can go wherever the wind blows you. Have fun with it!!! I'm sure anything color will be awesome, as you have a beautiful home with lots of curb appeal..

You can do a red door. BM Cottage Red is my favorite. I would remove the shutters on the windows which are not right for shutters. It looks like you have a yucca plant, which can be divided so you have three in that area. On the other side, select plants that have different heights and textures. Plan for three rows, doubling the depth you have right now. The row closest to the house should be planted so at maturity there is a foot between the plant and the side of the house. (Same thing for the yucca, which are too close right now.) A plant that is good for the front row is euonymus. For center of the bed between the two small windows plant a couple of Red Twig Dogwood (Cornus) Arctic Fire™ which maintains its vibrant red-orange stems throughout the winter season. It's compact habit is perfect for residential landscapes. Another plant that would be good for height is pee gee hydrangea, seen at the corner of this house. This would look great at the far left corner of your bed. Allow enough room for it to grow. Each year you can take cuttings for dried flower arrangements. Hosta, Autumn Joy Sedum, and other perennials can be planted throughout the bed. Also consider ever blooming roses.
