I almost pasted in your photo so everyone didn't have to go the link route, but I noticed all your photos are © all rights reserved. So I didn't. That's a smart thing to do by the way, ©. Your screen door is very smart looking. There are a lot of doodads out front: the flower on the door, the big pot of plants, the flag. If you get a new color on the door that you love, I wonder if there will be less doodads and decoration. :~D I can think of one color for the door. It's a red, but it is a very warm red. "Warm" red is a big clue that it is an orange-y-er red. I know you don't want "orange" but the bricks are going to dictate to a great extent the color choices. Also, you don't want the door color to blend any more, like the current color. So, to get that punch you're likely lookin' at some flavor of red. Ben Moore's Caliente would be the first chip/sample I'd check out. Another idea to play with is something like a mid-value golden yellow. Again, due to the brick you'll have to get the *right* golden yellow, but it is another color option that will pop and not blend.

Hi! I am quietly observing! Ha! You are all right in some way---the roof is definately gray. The door is NOT centered and the mailbox does belong to the left of the door (the wider side). I really don't know what the original builders were thinking to not make it centered, but it was going to entail way too much to change it when we resided. Our intensions are to put the house up for sale this summer/fall. We bought it and slowly redid the entire house inside and out-now we're feeling the need to get to the country - and likely start all over again! :) With all of that said-I'm not looking to spend a TON of money, but we will definately be painting the porch, putting the window boxes up, painting the door, putting new lights/lanterns up, and a new mailbox mounted to the house. Thank you so much for all your help...I will definately post pictures of our progress!! We're starting on it this weekend!

Very first impression is there are way too many narrow shutters and none fit the windows properly. What is not taken advantage off is the mill work over the windows. If painted the white of the windows, the windows would be lovely without the shutters. Shiny red front door…..

I think you have to take certain things into account when choosing a door color and ask yourself, do you want it to be a reflection of your personality, or do you want it to be what everyone expects? With that said, is there an HOA that limits self expression? What region do you live in, and whats acceptable? So, anyone could sit here and say, red, yellow, blue, purple or whatever. It can be whatever you chose it to be, as you really have a neutral base. You can go wherever the wind blows you. Have fun with it!!! I'm sure anything color will be awesome, as you have a beautiful home with lots of curb appeal..
