My Dr. was in big trouble today !!!!!
Comments (8)Florence.... When you said "my Dr. was in trouble, I thought you meant YOUR doctor who operated on you.....for a second I thought he'd messed up your hip or something...lol. That photo is really amazing, and the sheer size and beauty of that rose is a testament to the love you have obviously shown it over the years. Even giving it a haircut is a sign of a good mama....(and poppa, in your hubby's case). Your husband is a good man to fearlessly take on such a monster rose...sounds like my hubby. Tonight we were outside with a flashlight planting out some suckers of Scotch roses....our neighbors don't even question things like this anymore....they know we're weird about roses. The ground was rocks on top of rocks and DH wrestled some major boulders and roots out of the ground, breaking two shovels in the process. Now that I see how little cuttings grow in your yard, now I know how our "Pompom" rose will one day look! Celeste...See MoreEver have a bad haircut?
Comments (29)For many years I got my perms and cuts at the local vocational school, because we lived just a few steps from the place. Because they had a good teacher/supervisor the work was always done well. Also all work was done by second year students, which may be true at any vo-tech school. After some years the super retired and a new young teacher/super was hired. She was as good as the first one, and she and I became friends. When I had my first knee replacement, she came to my house for my hair cuts. She is now retired, which tells you how long I went there. The new super was not impressive at all. I got a perm a few days before my DGS's wedding and it was a horrible mess. I haven't been back, and that was 2 years ago. I don't like to make appointments, because the day may come and I just don't feel up to going, or it might be raining or snowing, etc. So I go to places like Fantastic Sams (but no more) and WalMart where you don't need an appointment, and have gotten some good perms and cuts, but you can't count on that happening every time. Even so, there is no place here where you can get a cut for $11.00. Minimum here is $14.95. I envy those of you who can cut your own hair. Sue...See MoreBad haircut....ugh!!
Comments (42)To the OP, sorry that happened to you. Nothing can ruin a month or two, or even three (!) like a bad haircut. I'm a hair stylist 30+ years. It's time to find a new stylist. You've been ghosted by your old one. She's telling you, without telling you, that she doesn't want to work on you anymore. Do not reach out to her anymore. Look on Yelp for a new hair stylist for yourself. It's a useful resource. Start fresh and look forward. Give the current haircut time to grow out and get a little overgrown and then go in for a haircut--with a different stylist. The new person will need to have something to work with. One bad haircut can happen to anyone. Twice in a row is a pattern. Time to start over with someone new. Wishing you better luck next time. Hugs Edit to add: Bring in a photo of yourself when you had a haircut you liked. Also, and more important, bring in a photo of yourself when you had a h/c you did NOT like. Visuals on the actual person are useful. Visuals on a person who is not you and has a different hair type, head shape, body mass, etc...are not too helpful in my experience. It's like apples to oranges....See MoreHaircut, better than last time
Comments (20)hallngarden, I would not be able to cut the hair on the left side of my head with my left hand if I did not have left-handed scissors, but oddly enough, I can use the left-handed scissors with my right hand. Of course this would not be the case with fabric, where precision is more important than it is with hair. To some extent, I cut my hair by touch/feel, and so I don't really need to see the shears that well, but I still cannot cut my hair with my left hand without using left-handed scissors. What was tricky at first was when I first starting cutting my hair with my left hand and was looking into two mirrors, to see the back. If you do not think that is tricky, try it yourself😵, just as an experiment! I'm used to it now, but it took practice for me....See Moretheforgottenone1013 (SE MI zone 5b/6a)
