New to Kitchens? Read Me First!
Comments (591)Depends on where you live. Usually thru Google searches. Bigger metropolitan areas have better choices. NKBA.org has listings of designers in your area. Big box stores may have designers, but usually just "decorators" with no certification behind their name. Be sure and read this link.... https://www.gardenweb.com/discussions/5500754/new-to-kitchens-read-me-first Also when doing research you need to peruse these... Comments (3)All my other threads have now mysteriously re-appeared (i.e., I suspect the Houzz bug has been fixed). Let's use the first one I created and let this thread slowly fade away. Here's the one to go to: https://www.houzz.com/discussions/5972404/new-to-kitchens-read-me-first-2020-interim#n=1...See MoreAnyone else having issues...?
Comments (35)Another strange thing--I've been tagging the Test forum on the above threads, so see if they show up there. They do, but then they disappear when they disappear from the UH forum. I also noticed that the sample thread I started in March to send to Buehl is missing, and I did not delete it (could not have deleted it since it is so old). It still stows up in my bookmarks, and I can access it. This is a screen grab: An older test thread of mine is there, and the one I moved over there yesterday from Kitchens, then deleted the text and responses when Buehl posted her new thread, is there (title is 'deleted'), but a thread I did not delete /could not have deleted, is gone from the page. I edited the OP yesterday, to add some of Buehl's new links, so maybe it's the issue of links again....See MoreDesign - Remodel kitchen
Comments (8)you don't want to paint what you have and build some boxes on top? what if you moved fridge to where double oven is now (encased in a cabinet) and move double oven to where fridge is, w/the wine fridge next to that? then your wall oven would be close to the stove top. you could do the micro in the island, or over by the wall oven. (and if doing only one wall oven, you could do a oven/micro combo, or put the micro above or below the oven. that's what I did w/mine) basically your one side would have this layout another visual, but this is a reverse layout to your space. pretend this huge fridge is moved to the other side, and this spot becomes your wall oven/micro/wine fridge. Here's one w/your wine fridge over by the sink, and the fridge on the other wall. You could do a range and forgo the wall oven. Or, just imagine the wall oven next to the fridge On mine, I did the fridge, wall oven and micro next to each other...See Morejust_janni
