The Maupas Residence, a circa 1920 wood frame house built in a transitional style, required a seamless restoration of an original fireplace heavily damaged from foundation settling. The hearth was replaced, new fire bricks were added, and the surround was updated with marble tile, supporting the original cast iron firebox opening, coal basket, and mantle, and ensuring this historical attribute remained a central feature of the home.
