Building Designers and Drafters

Fulton

The Silas Fulton House, a pre-civil war, post and beam structure built circa 1860 with a 1890s wrap around addition, retained just enough of a multi-layered history to remind us of its journey through time. Matthew S. Hallett worked intimately with the owner to fulfill a vision of seamlessly blending historic detailing with modern living. The ceiling was exposed, to reveal the largest preserved section of haint blue paint in Savannah, Georgia, while antique doors and lighting were sourced to match the originals. Woodwork was restored and preserved, an old window reopened to bathe the kitchen in natural light, and a 1920s bathroom designed to compliment an original vintage claw foot tub.
