This project was an in-depth renovation of a craftsman bungalow in Birmingham, MI. While in a very desirable neighborhood, the home definitely showed wear and suffered from dated renovation attempts over the years. The client asked Dan Davis Design to help for two reasons: he wanted a design firm that (1) was not afraid of color and (2) would keep essential 1920's design elements while updating in a timeless way conducive to modern life. We worked with the finest artisans in metro Detroit - JoBecks Construction, Potawatomi Tile and Smith Shop, to rebuild walls & ceilings, build custom cabinetry and crown moulding, create custom fireplace tiles, and forge a one-of-a-kind iron gate. The custom design continues throughout: an iron coffee table from Smith Shop, sofas, window treatments, and pillows. This project is a true testament to craftsmanship and artistry, and how the right team can design, build, and craft something truly unique and beautiful.
