put hot pot from oven on glass top?
Comments (5)Here is what the tech person at DIVA had to say regarding their induction units on Aug 29, 2009. Cut and copied from email: "- By the information from vitroceramic glass specifications published by EuroKera, the supplier of glass used on our DDP-5 cooktops, the material is capable of withstanding a thermal shock of 700°C (or 1290°F). Thus, placing a hot pot on the glass should not lead to the glass breakage. Still, I would only do such a thing - placing a hot utensil on a cold cooktop, as an ultimate measure, and not something to be done often. Moreover, since we started distributing our cooktops in 2002, we have not had any incident of glass breakage due to a thermal shock. We have had a few claims, but those were rather related to an impact causing physical damage. - From our experience, using a large pot/pan on a small induction element should not lead to the glass damage. It is my hope that this will answer your questions. If not, please let us know. Thanks for purchasing our product and enjoying using it. My regards, V. Kamikovski Manager, Tech. Comments (4)LottieS, most glass shops will take care of the hole. You don't have to cut it out usually - they do it. If you have a panel door, they usually take it apart and replace the centre panel with glass and put it back together again. At least that's what done around here! That's why some people have glass that rattles - the glass is thinner than the wood. The glass folks can put in a rubber gasket or silicone to take up the extra space and make it snug. :)...See MoreWhat to put in glass front stove cabinet
Comments (44)imstillchloecat "I'd paint the entire inside of that cabinet black, then use the white pieces. I'm probably in the minority, but that wallpaper looks incredibly dated..." I would politely suggest you read several of my posts above about the fact that the wallpaper is staying. I love the wallpaper and I love that it looks dated. The vast majority of my favorite dishes are all from the 60's and 70's. I have many pieces of vintage clothing that I love. I may have been a baby in the late 70's but the colors I love. They remind me of my favorite time of year which is fall. I'm not one to do something just because other people think I should. While I do appreciate the feedback I've been given it also does get a little tiring to repeat oneself. Before the wallpaper went in the stained back was a dark chocolate and it didn't look good that way either. It was terribly drab. If anyone else wants to mention taking the wallpaper down that is ok, but I'm going to stop repeating my self about it. LOL So rather than responding I'm just going say "see above". On a side note, I haven't had a chance to try some other pieces yet, we were taking out our old pool liner this afternoon so that will have to wait a little bit longer....See MoreGlass Cabinet fronts? What do you put inside?
Comments (43)Hard to suggest more specifically without seeing kitchen layout, but I would reduce the glassed cabinets to accommodate the type of useful items you’ll be storing - glass is also a pain to keep clean. Having them all together is visually appealing as well. In our last home we designed something like below, but double the size and used special glass (See link). Like minded items and larger pieces made it efficient - platters, bowls, pottery, jugs, vases, extra dishes and wine glasses. Cupboards don’t have to be staged with unusable things; contents just can’t feel cluttered and messy. https://www.fabglassandmirror.com/cabinet-glass?type=textured-glass Here are some ideas and hope something would work with your kitchen...See MoreKD
