restore doesn't work
Comments (1)Sometimes it does. What version of windows ? What's restore do or not do when you run it ?...See MoreWhat brand finish works/doesn't work well on old oak floors
Comments (7)We had our 85-year-old floors professionally sanded and finished with Glitsa. It's what our flooring guy called a "Swedish finish" and it was stiiiiiinkay! But it's beautiful, our floors look brand new. The problem is that I'm sure that the guys who applied it were wearing respirators while they spread it; the fumes 24 hours later when I came in to open the windows were awful, and we could smell it when the house had been closed up for at least a month. If you're doing your own work I think I would pick something a little less pungent. Nevertheless, it's a lovely, tough finish. Vicki...See MoreWhy doesn't search ever work????
Comments (14)Yup. I think the problem with those vBulletin forums is that a thread on, say, drawers vs. cupboards would grow to 449,898 posts in length. Newbies would just read the first fifty pages and give up. Those who actually posted would be admonished to "Search! It works!" and it actually would, and so no one would actually be able to contribute unless they had a novel question about living moss countertops. That said, the search really does blow, and it would take 13 seconds to simply code in a forum-specific Google search in the box. Also, the ad situation is ridiculous. They could earn a lot more money focusing on high end kitchen items than the nonsense I used to see here before I installed Adblock....See MoreWhen the Search function doesn't work
Comments (3)There are a few reasons that the search function doesn't find things: The data that it is searching is only updated every 24 to 48 hours so if you are searching for something that was posted this morning, it may not be found. The search engine only looks for exact word matches. Say you are looking for a post on what to do with your carrots and you type carrots into the search box - the carrot cake recipe that calls for a cup of grated carrot won't come up if "carrots" because the search will only find an exact match. Same thing if you search for "carrot" and the post only has "carrots" If you are looking for "ginger bread" and a post has a recipe but but called it "gingerbread", the gardenweb search won't find it. That's why a google search works better....See MoreAlexei Rebrov Art
