farmgirlinky kitchen before/after -- too long, too many pictures
Comments (96)This is the kitchen that has been in my brain for at least 10 years, and here you have gone and done it perfectly!!! I'm going to Pinterest the bejebbers out of it as inspiration photos for the coming renovations (as soon as I finish all these pesty bathrooms!). Seriously, I have wanted a 4 oven Aga plus a module for ages. I already have the full 601 fridge & freezer (so a little bigger than your Subzero.) And I plan to put a big barrel hood over it all. And you have a big island with not huge aisles! And you have soapstone! I really think we're channeling the same frequencies. I'm totally in love with your butler's pantry! We didn't inherit one, but I may use the cabinet sliding door idea for the walk-thru pantry I'm planning. It solves my problem of a tight space and not really wanting all open shelves! Ok, I'm off to study this kitchen more deeply! Truly, I know this reveal is several years past now, but wow just the same! Great job! Always ;-) Hunzi...See MoreMosaic storage before and after
Comments (18)My poor art room is filling up fast!!! I should of made my shelves floor to ceiling!lol! You must be sooo happy! I just did a clean up my grinder area, the grinder head was really stuck to the post!! Had to get DH and me to get it off! But nuthing like an organized space and a new head for the grinder!(Was a real Calamity too, as I was pulling really hard with pliers, when all of a sudden they let loose and smashed into the magnifying light and broke the flourescent bulb, sheesh what a mess!Had to breakdown and ask DH for help..for shame!lol!)...See MoreIssue with windows off-center under ridge on garage/studio
Comments (22)If any of you experts are still reading this- I just spoke with the contractor and he can knock down the foundation wall that returns at a perpendicular angle to the house. The garage and studio would then be a rectangle that bisects the breezeway cleanly at an angle. We could remove the roof return to the breezeway so it would be more like PPFs sketch without the green piece of wall. A bit of work but seems to solve many issues including a crammed exterior door in that location. The angular exterior space outside would return- but that seems less offensive then an asymmetrical garage. I lose some closet space on both floors but nothing major. Any thoughts on this?...See MoreHow to disguise exterior after garage conversion from 2 doors to 1?
Comments (9)Depending on the cost, I intend to do a full-fledged professional conversion of the left half of my 23 ft wide x 20 ft deep garage into a 10 ft wide x 20 ft deep practice space for my very loud drummer husband who currently practices in our aluminum sunroom (bless our neighbors who have put up with him for 15 yrs! & me for having no sunlight entering the back of my house ; ). Most say I'm crazy to do this, but this is probably our forever home, Charleston is a hot market, and I could describe it as a theater room if I ever were to sell. We live in a flood zone so our house is 5 ft high. There are steps leading down to garage which is at ground level. We would begin by framing in half of the garage facade & installing a new single door to replace the current double door. Once that is done we would have the most expensive part: the concrete piers extending from the garage slab floor to support the new floor so it is level with the rest of the house. We are lucky to have a garage with a huge ceiling! Sooo back to the original question, how do I make the exterior look normal? It helps that we have a huge oak tree in front so the driveway is only a few feet long in front of where the new room will be, helping it blend. My concern is merely what will become the dead/negative/blank space. It will just be a wall of nothing but boring vinyl siding 10 ft wide and 8 ft high (see photos/it will be the left side). Thank you all so much!!! Sorry for being so long winded....See MoreHawn Bedding Company
