Please help with redecorating my daughter's room
Comments (3)She's 11 years old and originally wanted lime green walls. Then when she saw the lime green chair that she wants, I suggested blue walls might be better. So she chose the Persian Blue. To be honest, I wasn't crazy about lime green for the walls. I agree about the white being boring! I honestly didn't think it would be too much color, but my oldest daughter thought it would be and has me second guessing myself....See MoreUpdate on 'any suggestions for this bedroom?'
Comments (9)The rug came folded in a big square and wrapped in heavy plastic. It was shipped via Fed Ex. I forget the exact shipping but it $25-$30 I think. The little white mirror is just sitting there - it will probably be replaced with a prettier mirror at some point, or a bulletin board. The little white bookcase will also go at some point. The plan for the big mirror was to mount it up on that wall, but low at little girl height, and put some kind of low bench or storage underneath. I will have to try angling the dresser and see. Normally I don't like angled things for some reason - I am a straight-angles kind of person :-)...See MoreNeed help finishing my daughters room.
Comments (5)What a sweet room. Since you already have a window shade, if your daughter likes it, I think a nice puffy white valance would be really cute. For the awards and belts, I like one of those peg style coat hangars that you use in a hallway, She can hang multiple awards on each peg... and you could even do a diy one if you were up to it. I love the chenille area rugs from Target. They are about 3 x 5 I bought two of them about 10 years ago (at least) and they are still going pretty strong. I like that I can shake the dust out of them outside and run them through the wash and/or dryer to clean. I use a rug pad underneath to make them a bit more comfy and to make sure they don't slip so much. I have one in a mixed green, and one in a mixed purple. I know I've seen pink as well (not sure what you're looking for). They make a nice cozy spot to sit on the floor and read, play, whatever....See MoreHelp designing my daughter’s big girl room
Comments (10)A canopy would work as long as it’s a twin. I love that look and kind of forgot to explore that option!!! And I agree, tall bureaus aren’t ideal but unfortunately it’s my only choice in this room. There’s only wall space for one horizontal dresser and she will really need the extra storage of the two lingerie chests since her closet is tiny. All of our furniture throughout our home is anchored to the wall (she’s our 3rd kid), so that will be a given. This won’t be her forever room, so trying to make do for the next five or so years until we either move or build an addition. I absolutely adore those drawer pulls 😍 thank you SO much for the recommendation!...See Morearmygirl1987
