It used to be...Decoration Day, My family was in the retail floral business and for several days prior to this holiday (it changed through the years, it was a fixed date!), we young uns would have to spend many hours wandering through the cemetery to find places to properly place flowers. We had maps, as the those same families usually wanted 'grave blankets' placed, but it was still an ordeal. Then, Decoration Day became Memorial Day and it all changed.

“roxsolid, I can't quit seeing your Ring of Sausage!!! I laugh every time I even think about it. Impressive!” 🤠 It is impressive. The town (Mundare) that it is in, is home to Stawnichy’s Sausage. The whole town smells like garlic sausage. It is in an area where a lot of Ukrainians settled back in the early 1900s. Not to be out done, several towns in the area have their own shrines. Glendon has a Perogy on a fork. Vilna has mushrooms Vegreville has a pysanky (Ukrainian Easter egg) There’s a bunch more, but you get the picture. (Not my pictures)
