I asked Semper to donate my winnings to The National Aviary right here in Pittsburgh, PA. It is a wonderful place that is close to my heart. Here is a pic of the Bald Eagles that reside there. I hope that everything will work out the way you want it. Suzanne, the job sounds great. I am happy that it worked out. It is so nice to work close to home. My job is about 10 minutes from me, 15 really because I have to stop at Dunkin Donuts along the way, for coffee only! Do you start this week? Patti, be well. I hope Dave does not catch it. I am on my 2 round of antibiotics right now for a throat thing. It is not sore, just scratchy, but it has been this way since Thanksgiving. :-( Marci, Donna, Milkdud, congratulations on your weight. Milkdud sorry the way it came off, but a loss is a loss right? Donna, are you doing points or Core? I am doing points, but today I am really going to study the Core program and switch over for a week or two and see how it goes. I think I need a new program to shake things up a bit. Dee, thinking of you and hope you are having a great time. And Raeanne, you are off again next week. I am so envious of all you world travelers!!!! I think I need to beef up my "Helpful people and travel" corner! I had a nice night last night. DS and fiance came over and DS #2 was home (rarity) so we cooked dinner and then watched the Transporter 2 and Wedding Crashers. Transporter was so far fetched, but the main character was a pretty cool dude and the Wedding Crashers was a major disapointment. I had heard nothing but great reviews on it and we all thought it did not live up to it. It was still a nice evening. I have to start thinking about a dress for my sons wedding in September. People keep telling me I should be looking now and I am not ready to make a commitment to any one dress right now. I am still losing weight and whatever I chose now, may not be the dress I would choose if I was lighter, even if it had to be altered. Do you think I still have time to wait? Comments (24)Football- it is honestly so refreshing to see others as disinterested in the game as I am. I live in the Texas panhandle, essentially the birthplace of all the movies and TV shows based around "Friday Night Lights". You may think those shows/movies are exaggerations, but they aren't. NOTHING matters more around here than the local, (oftentimes Podunk) high school football team/s. It is nice to interact with others who are equally unobsesssed with the game. Schick- I'm not gonna lie, that fence is dreadful!!! Drywall screws?!?! Really?!?! What genius came up with that idea?? Remind me again what area of the country you are in? I keep hearing you say this is the best time for outside/attic work and I keep thinking you must be in the desert if it is that unbearable the rest of the year but your outside pics show green!! I'm confused! ;) CEF- don't worry, HGTV has been a guilty pleasure of ours since we got married. Like Doug, we don't have cable so we don't normally watch, but anytime we have stayed in a hotel or a hospital, we have had the channel on HGtv 24/7. We even joke that its a good thing we don't have cable b/c every time we watch those shows, we get inspired to DIY something!! If we actually had cable service, I'm certain our list would grow exponentially. Doug- I can totally relate to the mental imagery comment. There are only 3 rooms in my house that I can walk in to and NOTenvision my future plans/changes/remodels. They are the 2 kids bedrooms and the front/main bathroom. I walk in my bathroom, I invariably start envisioning the future and plan for it, my bedroom, the same. My LR, DR and kitchen all still need finishing details and/or cabinetry to make it work. My pantry, still needs shelving, counters and flooring. My mudroom/laundry room still needs the lockers and command center. The basement (900 sq ft) still needs to be framed up for 2 bedrooms plus a common area and the bathroom needs to be finished. As for me, our 1300 sq ft addition is, apparently a side job for the drywall crew so we are getting squeezed in around the "main jobs". They were here for a few hours Saturday, several hours Sunday, none yesterday and they showed up today around 5ish and worked until 10 or so. That is the living room area, they still need to finish hanging the rock in there and then the entire area needs taping and mudding. I'm glad we hired a crew to do it but at the same time I'm annoyed and almost ready to pick up a knife and some mud and just finish it myself. More than anything though, I'm ready to move away from the perpetual reno I've been living in for a year and a half. 9 months agoDyed in the wool Pats fan here!!!! Nobody predicted they'd go this far this season and I am over the moon excited for them! QB Drake Maye sure looks like he has what it takes to have a long, exceptional career, and, by all accounts is just truly a nice person, which makes it even better. He and Coach Vrabel (himself a former Patriot), who went from being fired elsewhere 2 season ago to this incredible winning season seem to really have a great rapport. I get that y'all are tired of us, I really do, but come on.......isn't there just a little piece of you that loves this Cinderalla story??? No need to answer.....the following pic has been making its way around social media today and it cracks me up!
