Bohemian Rhapsody — anyone else watch it last night?

I watched this last night on FX HD whatever station that is it was really good. I really liked it.

I have to say that I was out of the loop for a lot of that sort of music such as Queen. And I do not know my rock and pop stars.

So this was a very enjoyable eye-opener for me. I’ve since read a little bit about Freddie Mercury. What an enormous talent

I imagine some of you might already be familiar with it because I think that film came out in 2018.

Have seen it a couple of times. And Rami Malek won an Oscar for his performance. Great movie.

Saw it on the plane on the way to Alaska many moons ago. I also found it educational. If you are a deep fan you probably saw it when it first came out. I appreciate many of the songs this band put out. That was the extent of my knowledge about them. I don't feel better for knowing the TMI on them. Because someone is a 'famous entertainer' does not mean we need to know all their dirty laundry. It's unfortunate how many have tragic stories that over shadow the talent.

I watched both of them and i wanted to slap some sense into the parents of the gal that was in the beauty pagents.She was dumber than rocks. The second one made me cry,it brought back sooo many memories for me.I kinda lived that life all through high school.My mom died when i was 9,and when i was 13 i was sent to live with an aunt and uncle.The aunt treated me like that,uncle was always at work.I had to care for her 2 kids,and my grandfather(he had had a stroke),clean house,cook,laundry,and i mean with a ringer washer and hanging them out to dry.Plus going to the spring everyday to get water. I used to get migrains,and had very bad stomach aches.I toughed it out so i could graduate high school,which i did.After i graduated the wicked witch of the east,wouldn't let me go job hunting.Wanted me to stay home and take care of Grandad,her kids,the house etc.We got into a big fight,and i was able to call an older sister in another state,and she came and got me out of there,and took me to live with her.It was like going from hell to heaven!! Years later i ran into my cousins at a family reunion(the WW'S kids,i cared for) and the boy told me that he always thought i was his mom,and how sad he was when i left.Made me cry.As he got older he realized i was his cousin. Sorry,didn't mean to get carried away,that show just stirred up buried memories for me.I didn't think there was still people out there like that.It happened to me in the 50's. Kathi

Angela nor calif - Claudia did get credit, finally, but I think it was more than a "skeleton" that MR called it - it WAS the whole idea! Yeh, MR didn't like not getting all the credit!! I didn't understand why they didn't use Joan for the script but I guess it came out okay since they won! The thing about Tom is that NO ONE else was coming up with anything and he was throwing ideas out there, including some good ones, only to be ignored. Scott didn't assign anyone specific tasks. To hear him talk, he was the world's greatest manager! I thought it was funny when those geeks (focus group) left, Claudia commented about them all being virgins! Haha... At this point, I don't know who might be the "Apprentice" - I've not seen any clearcut winners yet.

My absolute most favored book of all time. I have several copies...here and there. :) Scout and Jem have been my friends for years. LOL And how could you not love Atticus Finch? (Truman Capote wasn't Harper Lee's cousin, but a neighbor when she was young). I hate the rumors that he wrote the book instead of her, though.

I got in on the last of it so didn't understand what was going on.Maybe next week I will be able to figure out who Amber is and her relationship to House.LOL I use to watch all the time then when re runs started I quit.I always forget it is on but I will remember from now on.I love that show.

I saw it when it was originally in theatres. I'm not a Queen fan but thought I'd enjoy the movie regardless since I'm from that general era and the familiarity is there, and I did enjoy it. Fabulous performance by Rami Malek.

I saw it when it was in the theater, because Queen is still my favorite band, Marc Martel did the vocals in that movie.

Love it. I once attended a wine tasting tour throughout the Willamette Valley, Oregon, which is my home. We hired a private bus for transportation. On the way home, we were so blasted that we all sang Bohemian Rhapsody word for word at the top of our lungs. Fun times!!

Huge Queen/Freddy Mercury fan here. I've seen the movie numerous times. If you have Amazon Prime video, you can watch it as often as you want. Great movie and one of the best biopics ever. I also like watching the YouTube videos comparing the actual Queen Live Aid performance with that from the movie. They are uncannily similar.......almost freakishly so.

If you ever have the chance, look for One Night of Queen (a tribute band) in your area. They were on a British TV show where the contestants had to perform as a tribute band, and they won. The lead really becomes Freddy. I have seen them several times, and, in fact, have tickets again for April. The audiences are really into it! I never saw Queen live, so this is the best substitute.
