new: new obf for the birds january 2011 swap
Comments (150)Hi everyone. Hope you are all keeping warm. I have to admit, we haven't even really seen winter at its worse, but already I am sick and tired of snow. I am seriously considering moving somewhere where there is no snow. I can always come back to visit. All the boxes are great. Love to hear what everyone has sent and the enthusiasm of the recipient. I agree Shirley, it's like Christmas. Speaking of christmas. My tree is still alive and going strong. I put it outside in the stand, of course the water is frozen solid and under a foot or two of snow. We strung berries and oranges and nuts, pinecones slathered in peanut butter and then rolled in seed, all over the tree. The birds are going insane to say the least. I haven't wintersowed a thing. i decided this year i'll just go out and sprinkle seeds everywhere. i was getting prepared but then we got hit with the first snow and then the next one and then the cold and then more snow...so i said the heck with it. It sure is another cold one tonight. I think we are going down to about 9 degrees. guess i'll take that as opposed to minus any degree. hoping i will be able to join in february's swap. love the simplicity of it, but then i can execute on that...that's what craps me up with swapping LOL just an issue i need to get over. well, that's it for now. i have an early morning tomorrow. be well everyone, stay warm and remember....Spring is on Monday, 21 March 2011...56 days, 19 hours remain. maryanne p.s. mellen, i would love that website/link as well....See MoreJanuary 2022 The CLXIII Game

Comments (16)It'sbeen a busy 12 days since that first spaghetti wiring post. I hung the inverter up. Started laying the wiring in Today it is all down, but for two conduit pulls from outside. The power goes from the main on the left over to the inverter on the right, and then to the critical loads panel in the middle. That gutter makes it neat and easy. I backed up several important circuits, things like the lighting, the fridge, the platform lift, the sewer pump, our bedroom outlets, a few kitchen outlets, the hydronic heat pump, and the circulation pumps for that. The solar panels and battery can power all that, and it switches over in 10 milliseconds! after a power outage. When trying to look at the cost of the solar and the benefit, a critical loads backup and a hybrid inverter like this one really clouds up the math. I don't have a whole home backup generator, just the critical loads. A whole home backup generator install is 12~15K I also don't have a $500 a year maintenance agreement for said generator. The lighting would not be so easy to back up, but for the low voltage lighting system. The whole house, including 5 ceiling and 5 bathroom ventilation fans, runs on a single 20 Amp circuit to this cabinet. The actual full load of 127 fixtures and the 10 fans is 1092 watts, all on....See MoreWhat to Wear: January 2026
Comments (255)If you are looking for t-necks for warmth, I can highly recomment Heat-Tech by Uniqlo. I’m wearing a Heat-Tech t-neck and a fleece right now. My feet and hands are cold, but my torso is toasty! Uniqlo has a new Heat-Tech with cashmere. I know nothing about that. But the Ultra Warm Heat-Tech is great. Machine wash, line dry. Size UP. They are base layer pieces so they fit rather close....See More- 28 days ago
