I gave notice that I am resigning from my job today
Comments (11)OH Nancy. That looks like a device of torture. I can see how it would be easier to do if not working. I hope it helps. I totally understand the job stress. Dealing with the same myself The stress for me brought on the worst flair of psoriasis I have ever had. Still suffering from it. Better though now. Been over a year and a half I can barely walk. Like you low pay no befits and yet a couple councilmembers want to own me. Well it is not going to happen. I work approx 6 % or less of the year for my job and the other 94% is my own. They are NOT taking that away from me. Already talked to my boss about it and he said keep facts and figures close at hand as this will be challenged at the next meeting when I finally get the FIRST raise I have had in 4 years. I do not plan to resign because if they fire me I will get unemployment. They have no excuse to fire me. I have done nothing wrong. One councilperson even wants to control my PERSONAL home answering machine. Says the message is not acceptable for a person of my position. Well HELLO this is MY phone. In fact my message is this. You have reached the home of Me and hubby. Since I am the one that pays this phone bill I choose who I allow to annoy me. Leave a message and you will be lucky if I call you back. Now is that so bad?? Yes it is but I have had city phone calls at home starting at 6:50AM up to as lats as 10:30 at night. What makes a person think I want to talk to them about their water bill in my living room. I do have an office. Since I have had this message my phone calls have been reduced to about 90%. PHEW and my health is improving. I no longer answer the phone at home unless I hear who it is and want to talk to them. I refuse to pay for caller ID and then have to grab phone book and try to figure who it is calling. Since I took charge of my own feelings and voiced my opinion to several people my health is improving. Nancy do what you want to do. I hope you heal. I know that Lymphedema is nasty stuff. Stress is nasty stuff. We need to avoid it as best as possible. One little thing I have been doing is taking Holy Basil. It is a great calming herb. No prescription needed. Just be sure to check with your doctor about it first. Sorry I did not come over this side sooner. I forget about this side. How did the interview go??...See MoreI was in a car accident today (I am ok)
Comments (32)Glad you're feeling okay now--hope that continues, but as others have said, stay on top of your health. DD was rear-ended about 5 years ago. She went to the ER and checked out okay (had X-rays, and everythinhg). But within a couple of weeks, she developed a herniated disk--she'll have pain and medical issues the rest of her life because of it. And it didn't show up right away. Also--stop fighting with the insurance. You've got way too much on your mind to do that. Call your attorney first thing in the morning and let him handle your negociations. You'll do far better, and have much less stress. Having been through that mess with my DD? I'd say the best thing we did for her was to immediately hand everything over to our lawyer. She got much more than she would have on her own (even after his fees) AND we didn't have to deal with the insurance people/lawyers, etc from the other side. We didn't even open the letters and medical bills we got--just bundled them up and gave them to our lawyer. He was worth and earned every penny he got. I'd HIGHLY recommend you not wait to get in touch with yours. Much easier and cheaper for them to be handling things from the start, than to have to come in halfway through and straighten things out when they get in a tangle....See MoreToday I am 82!
Comments (87)Happy belated birthday to you, Sue! I love reading about your daily activities. You are proof of what I've long believed which is that staying active and busy is the secret to a long, healthy and happy life. I think many of the ladies and gents here at the KT must live by that philosophy as well!...See MoreToday I am grateful for __________
Comments (25)I"m grateful for my new sandals. After a couple years worth of foot injury and thinking I might not be able to wear fun sandals again, now I got four pairs of good orthos! My sister gifted me with a nicer pair for an outdoor event we are in soon. Then I found a little local shop that carries a few lines of nice ortho shoes along with a selection of nice clothing. Now I have two pairs of flip-fops and a good sturdy strappy pair of regular out and about sandals. The flip-flops are more for a bit of around the house rather than going anywhere. Not quite the barefoot or barely soled foot of a lot of my life, but a damn sight better and then some than having my feet encased in special socks, sleeves, and enclosed shoes for another summer. I'm extra grateful that right now, I can afford the extra bucks on some good footwear, and also help support local business....See More- 8 months ago
