What is different, changed, or broken?

Arghhh! This is my few minutes a day I take for just me and things of interest to me. I don't need problems. Real life has enough of those just now. Do I have lots of hand holders out there - i'm not doing all that well with changes presently 😒

Foas, nothing yet but there is a banner announcing that changes are on the way.

I already encountered a problem…tried to put up a warning here early this morning but the page to load my new post would not load.

Yes, the last update caused many members to become HU-somethings iirc. Not a good look for anything coming. I agree Annie, they could at least put up a poll or send a survey to those most active to gauge what we’re looking for to improve the website.

The Houzz forums are a free service to us. I imagine that their restructuring efforts are ways for them to more easily provide something which costs them a certain amount of their employee hours and technology.

Addressing individual complaints may cost them more time than they are willing to give. I'm wondering if there is a way to meet them halfway. Maybe a forum exclusively for the reporting of glitches? Or a group of well known trusted, willing individuals (Annie?) who would help them address wanted changes?

But kevin we are driving traffic here. When they want to brag to advertisers how many hits they get a day, you know we're in those numbers.

Back in my working days in IT we would push out software upgrades on Sunday mornings. The users in the field affectionately called it 'the weekly douche'.

Reminds me of the I.T. department where I used to work.

Our goal was to fix more bugs than we introduced!

Hey all, I just checked in with our team, and it appears that there was a bug earlier this week that resulted in that banner being shown temporarily - the bug was the banner. :)

In the meantime, if you encounter any issues on the site, or have feedback to share, the best way to do that is by sending our community support team a ticket through http://help.houzz.com. From there, our team is able to get answers and provide your feedback to the teams that are actively working on site improvements and addressing any issues.

It's not the only bug. I just got told to verify my account--sent me an email but no no Houzz did not. Wouldn't' t let me come through the front door as always. Just what we love more hassle!!

Emily, that may be the best way for you guys, but it's not necessarily the best way for us. There are lots of individual bugs or general things that happen that we just put up with or have figured out our own work-arounds. I think an open discussion thread could be useful too where we could all give our feedback and comments on roses and thorns if you will. A lot of what we experience doesn't rise to the point of an "official complaint" but would be something that could be folded into an upgrade in the system should one be contemplated. That way too we wouldn't be duplicating complaints without knowing if it was already brought up by someone else. That's kind of the beauty of a forum on a particular topic.

And frankly, almost every time I try to go through that link you provide, I get lost especially as my comment doesn't necessarily fit any of the options, and don't end up leaving a comment at all. And when I do, the feedback is spotty. It seems so much more effective when we get direct feedback from you which we all can share in a forum.

For example, when I go to edit a post of mine, and hit submit, it most often does nothing. I have to reload the page to see if the edit took place and usually it has.

For example, if I start a post in "The Kitchen Table", and I want to also publish in "Home Decorating Conversations", I can't. That option doesn't appear. However, if I start the post in Home Dec Convos, I can click the link to The Kitchen Table.

But I've worked around these for years and never bothered to report them. I just make do.
