Woops, forgot to list my last 5 Monarchs, released between Sept. 14 and 16th. 3 Males and 2 Females. 1 other eclosed, but was sickly - couldn't hold on to the chrysalis or branch, and I found it with mangled wings on the bottom of the container. It was not able to fly, and it was the only one that I had to euthanize. Until next year! :)

Tiffy, I had released some pretty late too. They had pupated on our back porch, which is where I left them for awhile, but then the more I thought about it, I decided to carefully remove all of them and bring them into the house where it was warmer. Like you said, they eclose faster if they're in a warmer place. I hope that all of your late ones and mine make it. Cathy

well I let them go, but they didn't go, they are still right where i put them, on some pink and yellow lantana i did not even know i had growing in my yard! I found it today growing by the fence in the back yard, it's climbing around some kind of hyacinth weed i forgot the name of it. but it is in a good spot for them, sunny but not out in the open, i will check on them when i get home and I guess bring them in if they are still there, hopefully they will take off and have time to do what they are programmed to do, they are quite tame now, if i put my hand in ther cage, they crawl right on it, and sit, lol, and they have stopped protesting that much when i unroll their proboscis to put it in the sugar water!:-) say a prayer for them! they need all the help they can get at this point! thanks!

First full day for DH to be home. I felt guilty about going to work, but he assured me that he'd be okay. We spoke several times during the day and he sounded great until late afternoon. Just got overtired. He feels he's not sleeping well and that's bothering him. I'm guessing he actually is dozing during the day but doesn't realize it. Tomorrow morning he needs to have blood work done in the morning. Hoping the predicted weather doesn't happen.
