@Rusty, when I was much younger, my mother had a very indulged Great Dane. In the evenings, there was a particular couch which Mom would spread a blanket over, and then Lady was allowed to get up onto that couch to sit with Mom while she watched TV. But if Mom had visitors over, and they were sitting on that couch, of course, the blanket wouldn't come out. Then Lady would turn little circles in front of the guests, and stare at them soulfully. LOL

Ohhh, years ago our cat Bud (who was VERY much like a dog) would rattle the hanging knob on the wall unit. His catnip was in there and he would paw at that dangle until we gave him some catnip. One time he was pawing at it, hubby got up to give him some and right away Bud jumped into the chair. He didn't want catnip at all, but the chair!! It was priceless. Who said animals can't reason?!?

I remember when my in-laws had company and a man was sitting in the cat's chair. They were busy talking and having drinks before dinner. The cat reached up and started clawing the guys pants. He brushed him away, all while talking. The cat kept coming back and doing the same thing, again and again. Without thinking about it, finally the man got up, continued talking and the cat got his chair back!
